Yes, it's true. I live in the DFW area and it made the local news.

Which exposes them for the scam they really are. When they were first proposed, their advocates claimed they would make driving safer and money wasn't a factor.

Which is clearly not true since they are now being (removed? decommissioned??) due to their failure to generate revenue.

I wonder what people did before we had so many gov't bureaucrats all wanting to make us "safe" (while gouging us for more taxes, fines or fees)?

And, I've noticed that when a gov't bureaucrat imposes a law, it usually benefits his corporate cronies. . .

Amazing how making us safer is so financially beneficial to some politician's campaign contributors or some bureaucrat's future employer.

Of course now all the left wing radical portion of the Democrats will use this data to say, "Cameras work too well in cutting crime and make the world a safer place so we must have them covering every inch of the USA".

*has flashback to 1984 by Orwell*

I bet ya the ones in California are already getting drafts ready to submit to the state legislature. :biggrin_25524:

I've ran anticam plate covers on everything I own for several years now and I know for a fact they work.I've never been hit(to my knowledge) by a redlight cam but I've been hit by dozens of speed cams over time (you can tell for dang sure at night when you get hit)and so far so good.Theres one in particular that I hit several times and it took from the front....After I learned where it triggered (and hadn't received a ticket in the mail)I made sure I had a one fingered wave going on in my windshield when it flashed.I would giggle like a school girl every time I did it too.Excellent $11 investment IMHO.You have to change them out every few years because of yellowing or abrasive marks tho' or it would give "the man" probable cause for a traffic stop.I'm like you guys, anyone who believed it was anything but a money game was blind AND goofy.

Well, if the revenue from them starts to drop they need to increase it. The way that's done is shortening the time that the light is yellow.
