hey guys, first post here, well i just bought a 85 359 two weeks ago and am starting to rebuild it, (yes its going to be worked!)

firstly, it has the two piece lug nut (stud pilot) on the front axle, well i want to add floats to the front of it and found a #### good deal on rims and tires, problem is its hub pilot rims, now the company does have an axle from a 92 379 there, if i wanted to change out everything how would you go about it and what can be used on original axle?
only reason i want to use original axle is because it has brand new king pins and some other things done to it.

so what do i need to convert it to work with the new rims?
    do brake's change?

    any info would be appreciative,

    thanks guys

here is what the truck looks like now, it will be changed over in a couple weeks!
also if anyone has any intake corssover tubes (to make it a dual air cleaner setup) let me know, thanks guys

We just changed over a 96 pete from stud pilot to hub pilot on the steer axle. Took the hubs off of 97 pete and put them on the 96. Put new bearings, races and slid them on. Brake spiders and drums where the same. For the most part pete sticks with the same bearings and spindle size. Until you maybe get into the 20000lb steer axles. Even the bearings on rears are the same from 40000 to 46000. Before you take my word for it take the VINs off of both trucks and check and see if they use the same size bearings or tear them apart and check. There might be a difference between a 359 and 379. Just some of my experience.
