An office guy or undercover dispatcher? That's the best any of you can come up with? Really, that's the most creative thing any of you can come up with?

I broke down for 5 days in portland and got breakdown pay for all 5 days. I broke down 3 days at home and didn't get paid for any. Not one company I have even worked for in O TR, LTL, or local work work paid for a loss of work due to the truck being broke down at a terminal I was based out of. It as makes no sense whatsoever and I challenge either of you to prove it otherwise and please elaborate something beyond insulting the carrier or bawling about how the driver is getting screwed.

Suppose He was at home and the truck worked but he had to wait 3 days for a load, should he then get layover pay?

A sure fire way of identifying a poster who is immature and does not have an intelligent argument to make is when they start accusing another poster they do not agree with of being a dispatcher, recruiter, or broker.

You sound like a child making posts like that, who do you think you’re impressing?

I seen nothing in scythe08’s post that would indicate anything other than he has a different option then you on what layover and breakdown pay is for. At least he can articulate his position, you just sound like a two year old calling names.

I actually see scythe08s point of view. Youre at home not working, why should you get paid? Talked to someone in hr about it who said it was extenuating circumstances and should be reviewed, talk to your dispatcher... Well I know how thats gonna go, seeing as how I dont work there anymore.

Meanwhile, my truck got fixed and I got it back yesterday. 10 days later if youre keeping score. Got a trip with a 70 mile deadhead then 170 to Des Moines where I dropped my truck and relayed the load. Right after I picked up the dang check engine lights came back on!! Truck seemed to have normal power, and it was the yellow "have it looked at" light, not the red "stop right now!!" light. So I drove it. Got a rental car home and Im officially DONE WITH SCHNEIDER!!! I did call em today and tell em about the check engine lights. Just so they dont assign it to the next guy thinking its good to go but now he sits while its in the shop. Im just glad its over. Thanks for listening to me gripe.

I wish you the best of luck with your new job and I would find it interesting if you made a new thread about it. :)
You have a great attitude and it will stand you apart from a lot of other drivers. I wish you the best.

If you are broke down and at home AND you request a loaner while waiting, you should get breakdown pay regardless if they do not provide you with a loaner. If you are broke down and sitting at home and didn't take the initiative to request a loaner, you shouldn't get paid. IMO

I see your point and I dont disagree with you. If I had known the shop wouldve took so long I would have requested a loaner. I was expecting 3 days or so, which I could swing. Not 10 days down. By the time 3 days had come and gone, the shop was telling me "probably tomorrow."
Thanks. Honestly Schneider wasnt a bad place to start. This last experience was crummy but I would still tell someone coming out of school to give em a shot.
