Is the 720 worth the extra money? i am on a tight budget but if the 720 is more user friendly or will suit a new driver i can come up with the extra money.

Aren't they the same thing but just a bigger screen? That being said, I like having the large screen of the 720 although I'm not saying its worth the extra money. Buy something you know you will use and enjoy for quite a while.

    520 is fine...

    720 is too big IMHO.

pretty sure they are the same thing only diff is the size.. 520 = 5 inch screen and 720 = 7 inch. i use the 720 because, well i'm old and it's easier to read. either way, please before you buy one promise me that you will still check your routes via a map book and that you understand that like any gps, it ain't always right.

I don't even look at the screen often
    just at mileage usually
I keep the volume up to anticipate turns near destination

How old are you? If you're over 40, you'll appreciate the extra real estate on the 720.

Depends on where you put your GPS. I'm in a ProStar right now and have it in the center of the windshield at the top which means I stretch to put in the address of my next destination. In this location I believe the 520 would be to small. If you have your GPS right in front of you somewhere then the 720 would probably be to big.

720 would also have the Calender and notepad, 520 does not.

    Thanks,
