btw look there is real gearbox knob not hydraulic

seems like nobody like this hydraulic anymore, before when actros was just released nobody wanted telligent because they were afraid because of old eps ,,,,now nobody wants manual transmission because of hydraulic

The 1835 Axor was good on fuel but the older V10 was very thirsty and heavy.
I just bought a used 2640 Actros with jut 240 000km even though it is a 2005 model.
    Will see how it does.

do you mean actros like yellow one on picture? or on axor

friend got axor euro5 , with very low km, he say it have best fuel economy of all his trucks , and it is lightest ( he haul grain-pay by ton)

as for v10 403, well here everybody liked it because it was big in volume hold well donwhill was powerful for starting in difficult condition but was slow, here before if you offered somebody v8 he would even not want to hear about it even 422 vs 403....father say when he drives it it use 50L empty 70L loaded , he is bit heavy on foot

as for 423 friend of father was running one parallel to our scania 112-333 , it used 50L vs scania 40L on same route(loaded in one direction empty in other) with 1ton less in total(scanias trailer was heavier)

i dont remember anymore well when they did stop production of 423 i think 1984/5 for long haulage but it was more intended for construction and more traditional buyers , but after 1985 there is very low of them 442A give very good torque properties 1550 at 800rpm of 1600max ( 1000-1600) much better than early 33 and 38´s and is suitable for construction

my father love those old v10 had in total 4of v10 and one converter 2626-to v10 , he claim they are best for offroad in traction and startability

but from today way of looking it was very strange in 1970 mercedes did have only 20hp/L over all range , volvo had already 30hp/L in 1965 on f88 , those mercedes engines were even then outdated , maybe even from their own predecessor (355vs402)

for last years Europen cabovers are more safe and I'd say of the same level as conventionals. new steel cabs are stronger, especially for roll over crash. Unfortunatly classical cabovers were like traps in accidents
