This would explain the uptick in USX trucks in the area. I spent alot of time on that Towne cross dock.

There might be. Call Teresa who handles all the dedicated accounts. Her info is on page 7 of this thread.

We've noticed more CRST & Covenant trucks doing CEVA. 2 weeks ago, we saw a CRST pulling a CEVA trailer out of the East Point terminal. That was the first time I saw that.

Seems like CEVA is diversifying their companies. Could be due to the turnover rate in this company.

I don't get why people wouldn't want to do this account. By far, it's the easiest one we've done. Never have to scale or slide a tandem. Loads are all light. Drop & Hook. Plus, the 4,700 mile guarantee is sweet. 3 weeks ago, we only did 3,200 miles but got paid for 4,700 miles.

I don't know what to say about Elk Grove. They have plenty of office people but still can't get things correct.

JTM22, how is Towne Air Freight ? They want us to do it since we live close to Elk Grove but my wife isn't fond about going to the NorthWest....especially during the winter. CEVA has a 4,700 mile guarantee so its hard to give that up.

Towne Air Freight has a bad CSA score:

Lots of O/O's run out of here. There used to be a bunch of fleet daycabs and sleepers, but I don't see them around much anymore. Most of the guys at the yard were hard to deal with probably cause they aren't making a boat load as promised. Our yard off Fargo Ave. was always bumping at night, there is freight to move, hopefully it goes your way!

so from sat-sat you only got 3200 miles and got paid for 4700? We have done horrible miles on a paycheck week but because sat to wed they gave us just enough miles, we didn't qualify.

People leave ave cuz the OTR side and other companies are getting 6k mikes for teams. So like us, we didn't qualify for guarantee cuz of the crappy equipment always breaking down. Weeks and weeks of a few hundred miles or maybe 2k miles due to the truck we had. We voiced our frustration on deaf ears. It wasn't until we had to get ugly that they listened. It gets frustrating. So if you go with a company with no guarantee and make more miles, except for maybe 4 weeks worth of low miles. It's better than what we have seen in the past. Now, don't get me wrong: this week has been very good for us. Our FM complimented us on our performance. Said he appreciated us. That with the miles says a lot. If this continue to be te norm we will probably stay where we are. The guarantee IS there. And has helped in the past. We just got so frustrated with the equipment problems.

The equipment seems to be your biggest issue. That can't be helped. OTR division we did that for several months but only broke 6,000 miles 2 times. Keep in mind, that was during the prime spring/summer season. There was freight but not enough to go around because US Xpress has so many teams. If you get lucky to be dispatched on 6,000 + miles then the issue becomes there is no time to shower, brush your teeth & other hygiene related things. We get time to shower everyday or everyday and a half, time to do laundry every week & catch up on our shows while still getting 6,000 miles a week. We've been here for almost a year now, we've done OTR, Reefer & Dedicated. In our experience, dedicated has been the easiest & direct route to a dependable/steady income.

Sometimes we do get paid for Sat - Sat plus Sunday thru Tuesday. However, if the Sat - Sat miles are below the 4,700 then we get the weekly guarantee even though total miles on that check were more. It can be very confusing but this is one of those accounts that teams need to keep their paperwork in order so when mistakes are made by Ceva/US Xpress payroll....we can catch them quickly.

Sorry but I wouldn't be happy with only 4700 miles as a team. Do you normally get more than that or do they keep you right about there?

We have a 4,700 mile guarantee but we do 6,000 miles a week typically. We've only gotten to take the guarantee two times & in those instances we were more than happy to take the 4,700 & get paid for miles we didn't do.
