Davis express is a great company to work for.
-
It seems me these trucking companies that require more than 6 months or will not except a student driver has a CSA score that is through the roof the insurance companies have start to call out the bad trucking companies. Before long unless these companies clean up their act you will see fewer companies the larger ones getting bigger. The trucking as a whole as brought on these new rules and tighter regulations. There is a rule take care of your own or someone will.

Hey Dan0154 my husband is looking into working for Davis....has 19 years experience and we are looking at relocating to Fl. Any advice you can give us?
-
I'll offer a piece of advice. Don't move to Florida unless you can make it on about 70% of what your making elsewhere. Cause Florida really does pay about 70 cents on a Dollar in the Trucking World.

Thanks! Very good to know. We are not as concerned about that as we are finding him a decent job. Just been around the ringer lately and are getting sick of it. Obviously the grass aint always greener on the other side just another name on the door for the most part but the bs that he has been putting up with lately has just gotten too hard to handle. Florida is our number one destination relocating wise so that is where we are starting the search.

Relocating from where? Georgia pays ok near Atlanta.

As long as you are within Davis's hiring area no area is better than another. With 19 years experience He should have no trouble at all getting hired. He should contact a recruiter ans see if Davis fits his needs. like I said before they are a great company to work for. Been there a little over 10 years and have no complaints.

While I was there things were pretty good. Got fired for petty bullsh1t but didn't carry a grudge. Even thought about reapplying however they are making the same mistakes I've watched other companies make. Recently they started accepting drivers with 1 year experience. CSA scores are falling because of that. ( also paying them less than the scale they paid experienced drivers). Also they had pretty good equipment KWs with cummins engines that could knock down 7.5mpg or better. Just heard they're buying freight shakers with detroits and a column shift automatic. I drive a cascadia 10 speed now w/ dd13 and I can't get 7.0 to save my life. I have recommended this company in the past however I believe the people running it now have more book smarts and NO trucker sense and are about to kill the company in the name of greed. Just my 2 cents but I watched them carefully and this outcome is my opinion.
