Agreed. Absolutely. The trick to getting some decent coin off the broker boards is to establish a reputation, and stick to your guns. It's when the going is slow, when the freight is ssloooowwwwwwwww..........I lived through that period, and figured out how to move into better things.

I much better like customers with high value stuff, and that don't mind paying for premium service.

The kind of stuff that doesn't normally ever get posted up on a broker board.

The real trick to this gig is making connections.

Your suggesting that the brokers fees be limited to 3-5%. That is price fixing. Your telling the broker how much they can make.

You don't need to worry about how much the broker is making.

You need to worry about whether or not you're making enough on the load to make it worth your time.

    Sorry for the misunderstanding, TREES.

Lenin would be so proud. Workers of the world unite!! So where do we open up the gulag campus for "re-education" of those that don't toe the party line?

Capitalism is a system where the players are FREE to pursue their fortunes, it is vulnerable to human nature, greed.....

It is a flawed system, not because of it's own failures, but because of the failures of it's participants....

The government, (another flawed system), has a role to play in attempting to regulate the capitalist system in the interest of public safety and business fairness....

Government is also flawed, not due to the idea of governing, but due to the failures of government officials to operate ethically and sensibly. Fortunately, we have the power of the ballot box, where corrections to the system can be made.

I'll take our system any day, as the alternatives are far worse....

It really boils down to the lesser of evils.

I prefer liberty, as opposed to tyranny.

If trying to make every dollar I can, for the work I do, means I am greedy. I guess my only response to that is: Greed is GOOOOD

What is this fairness BS? Sorry driver but no-one out here owes you $2+ a mile at any point in time to anywhere. You find a need and you fill it. There are plenty of companies who fairly compensate all their owner ops 95 cents mile Plus surcharge. Might be a shocker but every business takes risks. Yes even brokers.

Well you come pull my bullwagon for ninety five cents plus a fuel surcharge and watch how many people laugh at you about your fair compensation. See while you guys were we need a fuel surcharge we raised the bar to we are raising the rate. My last O/O I had here was @ 1.98 to his tractor on a standard five axle setup. The bottom line is as long as you folks will lay there and take it these companies and brokers will dionk you till your eyes are crossed.
