Company driver with a 2014 Cascadia. Anyone know how I can turn off the programming that prevents the engine from idling ?

I don't think you can, has to be done at dealer/shop. Have you talked to your company about it?

Yeah but they won't turn it off unless I have sleep apnea.

Our truck is always moving but would be nice to not have to keep pressing the clutch for those times we're waiting for whatever reason.

When I bought a truck from SoCal I found that they had put a zip tie on the switch for the clutch. So I guess they didn't have to keep there foot on there

If you're in houston anytime, I can have it removed for you. But there's a reason for that idle shut down...at idle, the oil pump is not pumping enough oil in the right places. The best thing if you really need to idle is just bump up the rpm idle at 850 to 1000rpm but at expense of fuel usage.

After some more complaining about the truck not idling US Xpress looked at it with me present. Turns out the settings have the truck idling at 18 and below. Company policy is to idle at 28 and below. Shop does not have the password to change it. They authorized us to take it to a Freightlinet dealer when we have time. I'm going to use this opportunity to persuade Freightliner to turn this off so the truck will idle no matter what the temp is.

As a team, we don't sit often but it would be nice to be comfortable when we do. And as a husband.....I'll finally get some peace from the wife. Lol.

Haha I hear ya. That's weird for the shop not to have a password though...
