I have been on priority for the body shop so I can get going again, have been cleared since 8:30 am yesterday morning, the shop has been done with the truck since yesterday evening, the body shop did not even have a work order open, got that opened this morning, had Becky set it as priotirh and here I still sit and the truck has not been in the shop yet... I just need a new antenna.
So much for that rapid turn around crap they claim to have. I have been here since Monday afternoon. -
Yea, you're right. Not as nice to sit and do nothing on the yard. Better to get dispatched to Liberal and do nothing.
-
Heard that!

Well folks, cleared hurdle #1...accepted to Steven's for May 19. My decision is based much on the frank discussions of Aviary 1 and now Aviary # 2. Read all 900 some pages of the first, and most of the 2nd. Also copied and pasted all of Emulsified's advice since being on the inside to a Word document to read over and reference.
Had an interesting experience during the phone interview:
Have you ever been arrested?
No Ma'am.
Have you ever been placed in handcuffs, or placed in the back of a police vehicle, or been detained?
No Ma'am.
Have you ever been incarcerated, or convicted of a crime?
No Ma'am.
after a few more questions, about 5 minutes later (as she kept encouraging her computer to speed up)
Sir, would you like to tell me about 1983?
What would you like to know about 1983?
Sir, did anything happen in 1983 that you would like to explain to me?
No Ma'am.
Sir, it is showing that you were arrested in 1983. Would you like to discuss this?
Ma'am, I've never been arrested in my life.
Hmmm...that's curious...it's showing your having been arrested in 1983.
No Ma'am.
After about 10 more minutes of questions:
Well, sir, you are correct. You have never been arrested. You are NOT a criminal.
Well, thank you Ma'am.
Oh, your quite welcome, sir. You're good to go. We'll be looking for you May 19.
Phishing?....or glitch?....well, my record is clean...so, anyway, thank you to all the contributors of these threads. They have been very helpful indeed. -
Slow computers...the bain of Operations.
I am not kidding when I say our computer network and operating system is old.
I had a system BETTER than this in my business in 1995.
You cannot believe how much we have to swear, curse and beg our computers to work.
It's an abomination.
But ownership won't upgrade the system because it's just too expensive.
Such a shame.
Putting us on Terminal Services would improve things a thousand percent and ownership would recoup their investment in the first year.
So when your recruiter was phishing...it may have been a stall tactic to cover for a computer system that is so old, so bad, it's embarrassing.
Each day (night) I go in, it 'wind it up and go again'.
