For what it's worth, you would also get the extra $ if it's a live load w/ short haul (that is, not just on an unload).

At cons in IA. All they got to do is take pallets off when they come in, in the morning.

Troy IL TA. Preplan to Menomonie WI after unload in Edwardsville. Bumped into Dark Squall at shipper today. Planners had five Roehl trucks arrive at the same time but shipper could only find one load in the computer. I got loaded and out four hours later. Three were still waiting...

At the shipper in Fairmont, MN. Getting loaded in the AM then home bound for 5 days! Whoop! Almost wiped out on my way up here. Winds are unreal, roads glazed over and of course that combined with being empty is a bad thing. Wind blew hard, tractor went sideways, but was able to save it. And that was only at 35 mph.

The last truck I had at Roehl had a collision sensor on the front. It was always picking up phantom hazards and hitting the brakes.
In my my previous truck I was empty coming north out of Darien, Wi. going towards Janesville. There was a fierce wind out of the west blowing east and the roads were ice glazed due to the blowing snow. I remember looking in the passenger side mirror and seeing my right trailer tandems being blown on the shoulder while my left drives were literally hugging the center line. I knew if I even touched the brake the trailer would jack to the passenger side. I prayed nobody would do anything stupid on the two lane road.
Thank The Lord I knew to not use the cruise. Today, if you have a collision sensor in your truck, it's more important than ever to turn off the cruise control on slippery ground! The phantom brake excuse will not save you if it jacks the truck. -
Haven't used the cruise in over a year because of that bs. Nice weather or bad.
