Hey everybody,
I am new to the heavy haul industry, well heck, I'm new to the trucking industry in general. Here is my dilemma. I start with my company this Monday and I have a trainer I will be going out with, but I have no idea what questions to ask this guy while I am am working with him. I only have 4 weeks to soak up as much knowledge as I can and I wanna make sure to ask the questions right out of the gate so I get as much information as possible. If any experienced heavy haul truckers want to help me out wiht this it would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know what questions I need to ask my trainer, what questions I should ask my company, and any little tidbits of knowledge that you think could be helpful to this Rookie to help me hit the ground running please feel free to post. Thank you in advance for your advice and help and good luck and be safe out there!

Wow, you are just getting into the trucking industry and are getting the opportunity to go into heavy haul right out of the gate? That's a pretty rare deal.
You might get some better responses if you tell us how many axles you are going to be running to start with, and what type of trailer you are going to be pulling. -
I will be driving a 3 axel tractor. I don't know what kind of trailer yet.
-
I know I thank God I got this opportunity so early. -
If you are going to drive for the company out of Florida with the gray trucks, I don't think you will be doing any heavy hauling out of the gate, maybe some small oversize, but I doubt anything heavy, I could be wrong though.
-
Well then what should I expect or be prepared for?

Battle Born Thanks this.
