Buy your own equipment and get your authority. Problem solved. You could even put your toll-free number on the reefers and vans, set up your phone system to forward all inbound calls to the safety department right to your mobile, then sit back and wait for the disgruntled 4-wheeler to call and report 10 minutes of fiction. If you're really bored you can get their contact information and enjoy dishing out some retribution for a few weeks (or however long it takes for them to change the number or block you).
Not saying I've done that of course.
*cough*
MrIT, Moving Forward and rambler Thank this. -
I think the waitress is about to have me drug tested I'm laughing so hard
Why do people drive truck?
Money? There's money in this industry? For drivers?
Glory? Sorry Larry there ain't been glory in this job since Smokey and the Bandit came out on VHS
Independence? Not if the government has a say in it
See the country? Maybe if you drive for a 55mph company
You have a Chrome fetish? Now you sound like an O/O
Diesel makes you horny? I had a g/f once that I'm pretty sure had this problem, course she also had a thing for maxing out my credit card too
Seriously though there's as many reasons (and combinations of) for being out on the road as there is drivers. What matters is that we all work in the same industry. I got in because I wanted to see more of the world and I enjoy driving. I stay in cause I still like seeing more of the world and enjoy driving. I prefer to talk on my headset cause I have always hated holding a phone (and the speaker is better). Does that make me a steering wheel holder?
Perhaps instead of railing on the OP for trying to do his job in a professional and safe manner and berating him about being angry about some sort of safety BS. We should advise him to consider other companies that are more likely to get both sides of the stories before reaming a driver a new one. On the other hand if he's already quit the industry totally good luck buddyMoving Forward and dennisroc Thank this. -
Thanks Big Don that post really helped me feel better
Big Don Thanks this. -
You are totally correct pattyj. None of the managers didn't even know that I was one of the best drivers when I thanked them for the reward. So I figured I shouldn't try so hard to be the best if no one notices. Oh but if you make a mistake they know all about that. I am going to remain a trucker for now but my plan has changed. I will use the trucker income to make larger investments that produce passive income.

You didn't get into trucking because you worked on that Obamacare website did you?
-
Op, I'd say this situation is more about what company you are with. I promise you there are better companies out there.

If you read a lot of posts in the various areas of the forum that are dedicated to questions, you will see a lot of folks asking about this. People do tend to have a totally misguided idea of what the job is.
Thanks a lot! Now come and clean the coffee off my monitor.
