Im being offered an 08 Coronado w/ cat c-15 500hp 13spd 750k for 45k cash. Thinking about running skateboard with it along with a driver. I know the necessary precautions I need to take before purchase. But, wondering if its a good direction to go in. Its not the nicest looking rig but looks won't pay the bills. Oh yea, most likely going to be doing loadboards for a couple months first. Just looking for opinions, nothing is set in stone.
just looking for some opinions

Sounds high.for the miles it is not a special deal.the truck is on a down hill run to the end at that mileage.you only have about 1 or 2 years left.but as you ask, imho.
jahnneysazftw92 Thanks this. -
08 has to be one of the worst years ever for CAT. Do some more research on them. Look in the truck forums here. Also call and talk to the guys at Pittsburgh Power. I wouldn't touch it.
and I love and own a truck with a Cat so don't think I am saying this because I'm a CAT hater.jahnneysazftw92 and Cetane+ Thank this. -
How about if i inframe?
-
What if you take the $45 thou and what you'd spend for an inframe and keep looking? An 08 is already 7 years old.
Maryjahnneysazftw92 and Ruthless Thank this. -
Believe that is the best way to go.
-
That's the bad thing about cat. Even an inframe is alot of $$$.
-
Was that Coronado built as a glider? It could be a 6NZ in there, I didn't think in 08 you could still get a Cat in a Freightliner.
-
Yep, but you get what you pay for.

Quick search of Truckpaper.com shows 2 Coronados with c-15 Cat engines. One a 2008 and the other a 2009. Evidentally there are SOME floating around.
