I have two shovels, a wife, and a daughter. What more do I need?
My snowblower is at my cottage. I have no garage at home to keep it in. Maybe I'll build a shed one of these years and bring it back home. In the mean time I'm thankful for 4 wheel drive. -
We have a steep driveway, so I've had an angry wife practically all Winter. We have a 4 wheel drive, but the cars have virtually no chance of getting out. She's used to me being there and cleaning up the mess. Now it's on her and she doesn't care for that much. And we have a snow blower, but it's a small two stroke.Dark Squall Thanks this.

At home tonight. Not a good week. This week's highlights?
9 hours to half load a trailer that was supposed to be a preloaded. Got 7 hours detention pay on that. They insisted they had NO MT trailers to load, so they didn't. I found 15 MT's just walking around their lot. Picked one, checked it out, checked it back in, got a door and waited and waited and waited. Waited so long almost had a 10 hr reset. Chose the detention and did a 10 hr too. Wasn't fit to drive after waiting all my waking hours to have this loaded. Then drove it 200 miles to MO.
Driving home, on IN I94, ex19; I'm in the hammer lane following another truck. I decide to get into the right lane and back down on account of weather getting worse. I check the right, lean and look, and signal. I proceed to merge, when suddenly a car came flying up the far left lane along side me and spun out. I catch it out the corner of my eye and move the truck faster through it's merge. I over did it and the momentum broke the drive tires loose. I begin jack-knifing so I readjust the steers down the road and apply the clutch. The truck lurches back straight and I let it lose 10 mph for good measure. Then I let the clutch back out and proceed. The car just missed the truck's wagon in front of me and if not for my merge, I would have caught their car broadside and killed them instantly. Got a critical event out of the tattle box for it, so called FM and told him what I said here, got a congrats for avoiding the wreck and recovering the truck. Had to sit a while at MI welcome center, to recenter myself to proceed. -
Yeah, couple days ago I was losing traction hitting the throttle on I-35. It sucks when that happens, and really bad when loaded. Good job man. This is a hellish winter.

At TA in Troutdale Oregon. Delivering Monday. So have tomorrow off. I got here at 2000 central with 3 and half drive time left. So if I leave at 0730 on Monday am I able to get layover pay?

Ozora Travel Plaza, MO I-55 x143. Heading to Baton Rouge and New Orleans for delivery Monday morning. Roads were just a bit icy in central/south IL this afternoon with snow that transitioned into freezing rain, but they had salt shakers out doing their job. Going through St. Louis, DOT signs said they're expecting 1-2" of snow overnight; hopefully I'm far enough south of there to miss it, it's just raining here now. This is indeed a hellish winter.

On I-10 just west of Baton Rouge there's the "Tiger Truck Stop" in Grosse Te Te! It looks like a dive but the restaurant there serves up authentic Cajun cuisine. The Red Beans and Rice with sausage is incredible. I'm starving just thinking about it! There's also a real Tiger there.technoroom Thanks this.

Nice save. Almost had a car slide underneath my trailer in NY last week. Was very little that I could do as he started spinning out of control along side me when he tried to pass. I think he had to change his shorts though when he finally recovered.Dark Squall Thanks this.
