What about a 19.5? I would think they have a higher weight rating?

225/xxR19.5 the heaviest I can find is 4000lbs per tire dual load. If you go taller then the 32" tall 235/75R17.5, and the 225/xxR19.5's, then I still have a hump over the tires.

A stretch DD is awesome. Mostly light loads and high paying!

Yeah, every knucklehead should go out and buy a stretch RGN and bend it when they curb it. That have almost no lateral strength in the beams. My point is that it is not for everyone. You must pay attention 100% of the time when pulling a stretched RGN or risk very expensive damages.

Wouldn't hurt to pay attention 100% of the time pulling a non-stretch rgn as well

I just get tired of my segment of the industry getting flooded with newbies who think that RGNs are the way to fame and fortune. For example right now I'm sitting in Baytown and every 10th truck is a DD/RGN. It's a shame that no one realizes that at some point capacity - the number of available trucks - exceeds available freight and rates take a dump. We're there. Now it becomes a race to the bottom until the weak ones are culled from the herd. Unfortunately they are the ones who caused the problems to begin with.

Wow. Someone is bitter! You are acting as is you were the only one born to pull an RGN or any kind of specialized trailer. Most who buy these trailers are generally not idiots. Also, if you're one of those drivers sitting with the 10 other's, shouldn't you have some contracts that way you are not always so frustrated? I park my 75-ton for the winter because I was smart enough to get contracts in the summer that allowed me to pay off $180K! Just sayin. I hope your day gets better driver.

I'm simply expressing my frustration at the state of the heavy haul segment. I still do very well because after many years we have customers and brokers we work with regularly. If I were dependent on the spot market I think I'd be broke in 6 months. For now gone are the days of opening up Internet Truckstop or calling your favorite broker and choosing a good load pretty much anywhere you want to go. Obviously things change and I accept that but don't always like it. My apologies to anyone who was offended.
