Darn it! No, wasn't even at Houston OC. I should of gone there but I was in downtown Houston at the customer. Nightmare that night they kept waking me up to move and go park some where else after telling me before hand it was ok to park there. Crazy! finally the Yard dog told me about a dead end street I could park on out of the way and close by on the shippers property. Was at the Dallas OC yesterday tho.

Delivered in Fort Smith AR and now about 70 miles from my next pick up in Tulsa heading to Vero Beach FL. Easy run yesterday from Dallas with a load of plastic pallets, only weighing 20,000 LB.

Obviously I'm trying stay out of the snow.. geezzz almighty Midwest is getting hammered this year. Looks like be better off staying in the west. It's been dry out there for the most part all up and down the coast.

This next load is paying 2.17 per mile (1269 miles) with about 11,000 LB's. I'll be counting the white dotted lines Ca Ching! Ca Ching! Ca Ching! Ca Ching! :yes2557: I know Florida has cheap freight getting out of there but what the hell it will bring my revenue up for this week, keep me in warm weather and should be able to get a short run (cheap if have too) to SC or GA where I can find better freight. Long high paying loads combined with short cheap paying load averages out ok. But personally, I stay away from the long (over 500 miles at $1.20 or less) cheap paying loads if at all possible! Sometimes you just have to take what you can get to keep the truck moving, but usually you can work it out and get some pretty good paying loads.

    Truck it!

Glad to hear you are keeping busy atruckr, sounds like a real nice run to Florida. Since you're coming over this way, as I understand it can be kind of difficult for you to get back west, are you going to try to zigzag your way back, run the east coast, or try to get one of the SC or PA loads that heads back to Dallas or Laredo?

Thanks DFO! Yeah can be tough getting back that's for sure. Was out here few weeks ago and found a good paying load to Utah from Virgina. Got lucky I think! Might zigzag a bit in south east if needed to stall and wait for a good load to the west. Probably will be heading to Laredo if nothing else pops. Then probably to Oklahoma. Some good paying freight there right now and often see loads to AZ that would get me to Cali again. Keeping my eyes wide open tho, been finding loads to the west in odd places lately.

In Georgia now. 400 miles to go to the delivery in Florida. Will see what comes up for loads tomorrow and maybe grab a load for pick/up on Tuesday. Lots of rain today coming down here from Memphis. Thank God it wasn't freezing rain. Got ahead of the storm, stopped for my 30 min break and it caught up to me:biggrin_25523: Then after another hour of driving I got ahead of it again. Last 3 hours of the day was dry smooth sailing! It's about 63 degrees here now, NICE!!!

Question for you atruckr I remember in choice orientation them mentioning something about having to pull a load from florida if you take a load into florida, can't just drop and deadhead out to GA, SC, etc. Did I misunderstand that, or is it required to take one of the cheapy loads out of the state?

You got it right! If you deliver anywhere below I-10 in Florida your required to take a load out from there. No deadhead to another state. Freight is picking up there it seems but still thin there for SNI. Assume that's why.

SNI is looking at the trucks in any given region and solicits loads based on the trucks in the area. If we just blow it off they are left with trying get company driver to cover it or loose the load/loads. That's my understanding of it.

I gotta ? on loads, does SNI put the loads up for I/C's to pick over first and leave the scrap for company drivers or is it the opposite?

Kinda taking a chance here. Usually like to have my next load out when getting into areas like this. But found it works better to hang tight and see what they come up with. North Dakota is similar kind of market without the "bring one in take one out rule" as far as i know.
