I drop occasionally at the home depot DR'S in Winchester, VA and McDonough, GA. Never been a big deal save for one where the appointment got screwed up. Got in and out in 3 hours on standby.

i worked for a LTL carrier in western Canada on mainly Home Hardware/Rona deliveries ...for Kitchen Craft (wpeg)...then they started deliveries to Home Depot thats when the problems started!!
When you picked up a load your trip sheet had drlivery day /time/who they spoke to at store.
well i arrived at the Regina store after delivering to rona about 10mins before trip sheet time,8am rung the bell /door was tied open so stuck my head in and within seconds a guy was nose to nose shouting at me no fng deliveries until 6pm--midnight.,i told him i only had 1 skid and it was all arranged with %%%by phone,,no i was a liar /boss/company and i was to f off i am %%%% its all a lie.and he actuall ypushed me out the door and slams it shut..
    I KID YOU NOT>
so i phone up dispatch ,they phone me back saying %%%% told them to f off .........dispatch then phone up manufacture and 30mins later the local KC rep pulls up and tells me he phoned as well and got abuse sssoooooo to take the skid to a moving depot for storage (kitchen was made to order for customer through the store).
well the next few deliveries /weeks i delivered to the moving depot.
After about a month i asked the foreman at the depot how are you getting on with delivering to HD...well he says we load 6 skids into a van once a week and go round to make delivery ...the %%%%%% tells them to take it away and bring it back after 6pm,only one problem he says we finish at 5.30pm in the depot.
I moved company soon after but according to a friend that still worked there, the company told KC to find someone else to deliver HD.
this is all true...could not believe how anyone could get away with this sort off attitude

Menards stores are evern NICER than Lowes........Menards stores (either the store or the DC)..You can Unload anytime from 5am to 10pm..

The Kids are mostly polite and they drop what they are doing to come unload your truck...(It may take a few minutes if they are assisting a customer)

Ive never stayed over an hour at a menards...........

    The only downside....the Freight Rates

Several years back we did a bunch of patio furniture loads to HD stores, they were all multi-stop, usually 3 stores per trailer. Unloading time seemed to vary by store, but all hours. I did 6 stores in N.M., only one was a PITA, Gallup, N.M.. Arrived 3 hrs early for a 2pm delivery, they refused the early load, I said, well, I have to unload in Alb. in 4pm, if you take me at 2 pm, I'm going to be late, so why not take me now your not busy. Still they refused, I said your people setup the schedule. Notified dispatch and crawled in the sleeper for a nap. Wasn't 30 minutes and they came a knockin'.

Only two that were really decent, Grand Junction, Co. and Eagle, Co. Had a 6 pm delivery in GJ and a 2 am in Eagle, it's a 2 hr drive. Delivered in GJ @ 5pm, they gave me the number for Eagle and called ahead to get me rescheduled for 11 pm so I wouldn't have to sleep it off. When I arrived @ 9pm, they took me early and bought me dinner.

One summer though, when it was slow, we did work with Pavestone, delivering to HD stores with one of their drivers. Ever store was a cluster, rude employees, rude customers, one store the Pavestone driver and I both walked away without delivering after the Manager cussed us out. This was the day before the start of a massive 3 day Pavestone sale, when the Pavestone driver called his office to let them know what happened, they called the Regional Manager. Within 20 minutes they had cleared a spot for us to unload, even helped roll up our straps and directed traffic away from us.

Some Menards stores are like this, I've delivered to the one in Rapid City and the one in Scottsbluff. Rapid City is super nice, friendly, quick to unload. Scottsbluff, pretty sure they thought I was a leper.

The one DC I can't stand is Pittston PA. Two lanes in the driveway and one lane at the guard shack. What a pain when trucks are backed up out to the road waiting to get in. I go in there once in a while looking for empty trailers and there's been a couple times I wish I had a drone that I could fly up and down the rows from outside the fence. If I'm going to sit I might as well have fun at the same time!

Hell I even work as a company driver out of the Eau Claire, WI DC for Menards and sometimes some of the stores have workers that are less then friendly to me or get me out of the stores in a timely fashion. I went to Rochester South store in MN and sat there for 2 hours to unload and then went to a store in Onalaska, WI where I sat for over 2.5 hrs.
