Rollin Coal did roadranger tell you something different from 50w synthetic? When I put in a new 18913a trans I went with 50w and I just had the lines made up at napa auto parts. I changed the oil at 20,000 miles b/c it was a brand new trans which they recommended and I've left it alone ever since which was around 30,000 ago. Just wanted to see if they told you something different?

For our transmission that was the only oil mentioned, the 50w. There were other transmissions that specified other weight oils but I didn't pay close attention to those.

Yeah roger that. I had a 15spd, I changed it with our tranny. Have had it for 2 yrs now, I like it and have had no issues with the 50w. Just wanted to see if they told you something different. I have a 3406b motor and I actually gained some fuel miles with the swap. Thanks, good luck with the trans.

The old style transmissions from the 70s and earlier used the the the 90 and 140 weight gear lube. The newer trans are built with closer tolerances on the gears and bearings so they require 50w lube and prefer you use synthetic. There is a big difference in warranty if you dont use it on new and reman units. Go to roadranger.com http://search.eaton.com/cgi-bin/query-meta?v:project=Roadranger&query=TCMT0020 and the manual you need is TCMT0020 .
This manual has all the lube needs for all eaton products.rollin coal Thanks this. -
Just curious, has anybody ever used Redline Heavy Duty shock proof gear oil in their trans or diffs? We used to use it in 4spd Harley transmissions for drag racing and street use. Seemed like a superior oil compared to other things we had used.
