Just got off the phone with the USX recruiter. Seems the accident I had in july is a problem. I sent them the one page accident report that the police sent me. It clearly says it is page 1 of 1. Recruiter says there should be a second page. Can't give them what doesn't exist. I don't see what the problem is. I told them the accident was MY fault and I received a ticket for it and paid a fine. I rear ended the lady. Don't see what a little map showing the location of the vehicles is going to change the fact it was MY fault. I told them so. This is thursday afternoon and I'm supposed to leave on saturday for orientation. I live in florida now, the accident happened in New York and the recruiter is calling me from the central time zone. How is a map going to help?![]()

Just got off the phone with the recruiter and they canceled my orientation because they insist there should be a second page to the police report. I can't beleive it. I am heated. I could see it if I claimed it wasn't my fault or if there were other circumstances involved. There wasn't. It was MY fault. I was given a ticket for it in which I paid a fine. I guess honesty doesn't count. Oh brother!

Hey, don't knock those guys too hard. At least the recruiter is being honest with you. At some outfits, they'd have dragged you all the way to orientation before telling you 'NO', and then you'd be finding your own way back home. You think you're mad now? You should call that recruiter back and thank him, really. He just saved you a bus fare.

Try calling the P.D. were the report is from and ask if there is an
accident diagram for this report number. If not, explain your situation
and ask them to fax you a quick note stating NO second page.
May or may not help. -
Thanks folks. I went to the New York State DMV website. I think I found what they where looking for. All page two is is an explanation of the items on page one! Oh well. I faxed it to them last nite. Haven't heard anything as of today. Guess they not interested. I'll keep trying to start truckin'.

keep your head up. i drive for USX and its 'ok'. there are several companies out there. you WILL get hired if that is all thats on your record.
take care -
Only half honest, Full honesty would have been to tell the OP that we can't hire you because your at fault accident is less then a year old and would have to be approved by safety. The second page request was just a delay tactic till safety gave the recruiter a thumbs down on the application.
OP, ANY accident in trucking is a big deal and a red flag on a application whether you payed a fine or not or how honest you are. Keep your license clean and don't blame them for their insurance carriers requirements. -

Talked with USX today and they are offering $1000 sign on bonus. $500 after orientation and $500 6 months later. Now, I am curious, is this a bait to get me in a jacked up situation or is this a good thing?

You better thank your lucky stars you're not going to U S XPRESS. I was there for a year. All they do is give you a wore out piece of junk and send you up the road and let you set. Example, I picked up a loaded trailer at a drop yard already sealed, traveled 5 miles to Interstate turned south, crossed state scales and got ticket for over axel weight, with no way to correct. Would you like to know what U S XPRESS told me over the phone? "It's your baby now, we don't pay fines". (650.00)
