Hey, how about you post in here regular. You'd be doing ME a service too. Been thinking about you and hoping you are getting the hang of trucking. More importantly hope you have found some way to some peace and serenity during what I KNOW is a stressful time.

At the top of the thread page there are several little tabs, one takes you to a way to subscribe to the thread, you'll get email notification when someone has posted here. Thats how I came upon your initial post in here. EASY way to get to the page by clicking the link in the email.

Also get a few more posts in so you can PM people. Sent you one a week or so ago , not sure if you can read it or reply with your low post count.

one minute, hour, day at a time. got a cb? give a simple shout for any friends of Bill W. worked once for me. (i hit the road with my trainer 5 months sober.)

one thing that works really well for me is that if force myself to drive/work nearly to exhaustion. so that once i'm done all i can do is crawl into the bunk and sleep. down time to me is NOT a good thing.

as for me being on the road has actually HELPED me stay sober. it keeps me busy and just the threat of drinking and missing an apt and getting fired 1700 miles from home, for me, is a strong motivator.

if ya wan't send me a pm and i'll get ya my number. it's always on. be safe driver.

click on a person name in the thread, a box appears. send PM is one of the links. Then its similar to an email, just private. Need to have a subject typed in or it wont go through.

When YOU receive one there is a little link with a drop down menu just below your user name at the header of any page you are on. It will blink green when you have a PM or someone has "thanked" a post you made. click on it and the drop down appears. Click whatever link is available to you there. PM will show up. You should have one now from me last week. If not you still need to make a few more posts before you can PM. Board rules.

Here's some food for thought: One of the things I noticed while I was driving and trying to work the steps, was that it became very easy for me to tune out the world (including step work) and isolate by hiding in the cab of my rig. I'd stay out 3-6 weeks at a pop just so I didn't have to deal with ####. I think this is dangerous for the recovering alcoholic and keeping vigilant contact with other alcoholics is super important. Get phone numbers and USE them. Stay on your sponsor's keester daily if possible. My sponsor picked up the 2 books available at all central offices that list the AA contacts all over the country. Get them if you can! Since most of us tend to run the same zones over a period of time, make a journal of meetings you DO find and keep it handy.

Wishing all of you another safe and sane 24.

    Peace

    Jim
