I kept in touch with 5 people from my orientation group.I was the last to quit 4 months was enough for me but 3 quit in the first month 1 the second and the other right before me.This company will rip you off everyway they can and treat you like you are a piece of garbage. The pay is the close to the worst around if not the lowest... The insurance benefits are a total rip off and they will do everything they can to take your money when you quit. Also while the trucks are fairly new the trailers are garbage and the shop people will leave you on hold for 20-30 minutes then insult you for trying to fix their garbage. STAY away from them

Maverick has a Temperature Control Division. And they do not require a refresher. I am in the same situation. I believe I saw you on another post too, maybe. I applied with them and my application is currently under review. They said it is no point in a refresher course cause they will put you with a trainer. That is what I am doing. Going to the Temperature Controlled Division.

I bet there isn't one area on Craigslist that they don't have multiple ads a day...makes you wonder....but that .75cpm does catch your eye right?

.75 cpm includes bonuses, etc. Many advertise pay in this way. You must earn the bonuses, etc for the end pay to be that high. Right now you're looking for a company that will offer you a refresher course. Who cares if it's the perfect company as long as you get what you want out of them, which in this case is refresher, then you can move on.

There's drivers that have been with Western Express for 10 - 15 years or longer. All trucking companies have long term drivers and those that bail out after a couple of months. Ignore that and do what's best for you in your current situation.

I see what you're saying but I don't wanna go through their refresher and then decide its not for me and leave for another company, that wouldn't put me in a very good light and who knows what they would put on my DAC report. That's why I want to investigate everything with all of these companies and then make an educated decision as to what is best.

A refresher course with any company is for a set amount of time. At the end of that time your contract is over and you can leave with nothing negative on your DAC; you fulfilled the contract.

I think R.E. West has a refresher with no contract required.

Paschall Truck Lines has a refresher & the trucks have APU's.

Any company I post or anyone else posts will have some who say "don't go there", but they have a driving job, you don't. Look at all the recommendations from those that tried to answer your question and go with the one that best suits your wants and needs.

I always keep a backup plan in life. That's why I've never been unemployed for longer than 24 - 48 hours. Retired from driving in Sep 2013 , but with a young family just never know what could happen. Living in Las Vegas, should I have to return to driving someday, my backup plan is Western Express refresher or Schneider Bulk refresher if they're hiring in that area at the particulat time I need refresher, then to a hazmat/tanker company.
