You could just refuse to have a hair test..it is not required by DOT nor can a positive test result be put on your "record" in the DOT data file as a fail..It is not a "recognized" method of testing..

Yeah, hair seems a bit excessive for a beginning driving job.
-
Right, because a beginning driving job certainly doesnt expose one to thousands of other vehicles every day, so what's a little recreational dope?
crimedoc96, Heysunshine, technoroom and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sure you could shave everything. Then you will be marked as a refusal and sent home. Beginning drivers can still drive 80k pounds. I'd tell your "friend" this isn't the vocation for him.
technoroom Thanks this. -
true...and the private company...roehl...can refuse to hire you if you refuse to take their 'unrecognized' (wrong btw, but i digress)....hair follicle test. So there's that
-
If you've got to try that hard to dance around a drug test, clearly you should be doing something else.bigtssa Thanks this.
-
They only water board when you're out of route on a toll road.
-
So what page in the FMCSA book is it printed that a hair test is OK to take in place of a UA..??
-
hey i know.the Op,or his friend,could look elsewhere for employment and would then
a) not be subject to a hair test;
b)drive a truck that runs better than 62 mph;
c)not have to join, after the fact,all of the negative roehl threads here on this forum.
tada. -
Well then I wish him/her luck in their search..
