Exit 87 BBQ stand Jackson, TN

Lol....yeah, TX has the brisket figured out, but TN is the BBQ pork shoulder kings, imho, and a Memphis shoulder sandwich is something everyone should have at least once in life...lol... I've heard the Tarheel has the best whole hog pig roasts, but I've never found a joint down there that I could park the truck at...

 

I've only found 2 places in Texas where the BBQ is worth stopping for. Bodacious on the 20 in Tyler and KDs on the 20 in Midland ... beyond that the BBQ in Texas rates mediocre to down right bad

 

Loads of fantastic BBQ in TX. Just not too much with decent truck parking. KDs brisket is right up there with the best. Ribs and rest are good but not winning any contests. Kreuz Market in Lockhart is great. I have been able to park there a few times. Hard Eights in Stephenville is another great one that you can park truck. There are lots of others but slip my mind.

 

Yes TX has some great BBQ but perhaps most of it is away from the main freeways. We have Rudy's and the Salt Lick in our neck of the woods near. Austin. Good strong stuff to whet the appetite.
Also if you ever pass through Orlando FL, you want to check out Cecil's, but alas it's not in a good place for a truck although there's a Publix supermarket close by. You could park behind it. Cecil's is on one of the main drags just south of downtown. And they do fantastic BBQ ham. Something I love but rarely see.

I agree....she runs a darn good spot there BUT everyone needs to avoid the 'Bqq man' at Little Rock near the the Petro...this guy has had drivers get sick...shut down by the Ark health Dept and somehow he always comes back in bushiness...

 

I have heard that also....actually it is a couple of guys that have that set up and will even deliver to trucks..lol
