I am a recent grad and applied for a position that requires 1 yr experience. One day later I had a phone interview with a recruiter. He said oh you are lucky we can take you please come to the orientation on Feb. xx. I said I need one month to end my current employment. May I start in March? Then he said oh I can not consider you now, please check back when you are ready. One day later, I found my online submission status was changed to "withdrawn"

Is this the normal way they handle applications? Will I be considered again if I re-apply for this position or other positions?

Can't hurt to try. But I'm betting the same company would want you to submit notice before quitting.

Some companies hang on to apps for so many months then others like this one hires right then and there.Wait till you're ready to start this carreer then reapply, you'll get hired.

One month is a little excessive don't you think? Two weeks is appropriate but I've left with only giving them one week. Look at it this way.......if they fire you they don't give you notice, it's immediate termination. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The company that wanted to hire you sounds like they just need a warm body to fill the seat. Those companies are a dime a dozen.

Thank you. I just got my CDL-A license and this is my first trucking job application. I am ready to start in March, I applied in January, it looks like I applied a little bit too early? Then how many days shall I apply to pumpkin in advance could be considered as "proper"?

So to understand, with little to no experience you applied for a position that requires a year exp?
Commendable to want to give good notice with current employer. Speaks highly of your character. If you are interested you have a decent chance it's still available then. But I can't get past recent grad and requires a year?

Thank you. I am a newbie and really dont know much about trucking industry.

My current employment(in another industry, in which positions are very limited), job hunting may take 3-6 months before you can get an offer.

Have you ever gone into a car dealership and told them you want some time to think about it. Oh, no, the deal is only good for right this minute. It is call high pressure sells. The company that you wanted to work for most likely doesn't want to give you time to do research into them.

What company was it? Feel free to drop the name. We like the dirt.

You will do fine in this world by having a decent set of ethics and never compromising them. Welcome to trucking.

I think my clean backgound, stable working history and home location really help.

I have stayed in my current employment for 3 years (non-trucking). The boss is a nice guy so I can not say I am gonna leave tomorrow. That is why I told him I will be leaving 1 month later.

whats the name of the company? Also the norm is a 2 week notice... if you call they guy back and ask him if he'd be willing to let you give your current employer a 2 week notice, i'd be surprised if he said no
