Also. Apparently my fleet was being watched by a swift dm. Because last night my bills said to go to one location and the Qualcomm said to go to another. So I sent in a free form asking where to go. But I used the old systems location codes. So I got a call from a swift dm saying. I don't understand your message.

So much spam on the qualcomm. Got like 49 messages in the last two days. l liked the one that says "please send a mac for your recent fuel purchase" after I started driving. And then it sends it again and again every min and got no where to pull over

While it's awesome you have a positive attitude towards the fiasco that is the transition to Swift, exactly how could it be worse? Perhaps if a Swift representative showed up where you're parked for the night, punched you in the face and ran away. That might be a little worse.

Just reading through the current Central driver's posts of the past few days...no pay, no access to working fuel cards, no one answering phones, no miles, no clue, no answers...etc, etc. I sense a pattern here. And for one second go ahead and think that if you showed up to deliver a load 24 hours late, with no warning, and no excuse other than "well at least I tried"...that you wouldn't be held accountable.

My point? Swift/Central fumbled this transition as well as if they had done it intentionally. How difficult would it have been to assign a small team of current Swift managers to personally see that every transitioning Central driver was ushered into the Swift family with precision and communication? It's painfully obvious that Swift put nearly zero effort into this transition. And again, as professional drivers, would you be excused for the same lackluster effort? We all know the answer to that.

I do hope that all my former cohorts at Centr....errr....Swift see sunnier skies (literally AND figuratively) soon. And marlowhy I would love to have your optimism, normally I am as optimistic as they come. But in this case, Swift/Central should not be forgiven for treating their most important assets, the drivers, like garbage.

All you really had to do was read through the swift threads on this very forum. Everything described in this thread about the change over sounds a lot like a normal day at swift. If they treat their own drivers that way what made any of you think it would be any different. Polish up the work history and make like a rat on a sinking ship.

Someone said in an earlier post that this could all be Swift's way of seeing who plays well with others. LMFAO! Seriously? This is not a kickball game during recess. This is our livelihood. No direct deposit for 2 wks. Guess what? I have bills that are set up on recurring auto-draft and I can't fund my bank account. NO! I'm not in the mood to play well with others right now.

C'mon Clyde, you can't compare this to a kids kickball game. In kickball you have to pick teams, decide who goes first, figure out what's fair and what's foul, etc. Point is even children understand that there has to be at least a little communication beforehand. This transition has been an exercise in poor communication, miscommunication and/or the complete lack of communication. Apparently Swift management never played kickball.

  8. ACTUALLY, that's my point. Swift is seeing who will adapt and who won't.
optimism? No, I'm just trying to be relatively positive in a ######### up situation.
After being O/o for 3 years anyone would expect a little respect. That's not happening, so what are you going to do? Grump and moan about it all or work with what you have to work with?
we will keep trying to work with the situation as it is, we have been lucky with no problems with the QC or fuel cards. That's not to say we won't get ######### too.
We jumped ship b4-prime w/truck payment 1050.per Week, pay for all reefer fuel, all tolls, never getting home and staying on east coast 90 % of the time. Only plus is we did make money.
Sorry if my positive nature bothers anyone, just trying to be helpful, I know Lady K and Klingon will vouch for us and they know the ridiculous BS we have dealt with at both Central and Prime.

Arkansas Frost and Lady K Thank this.

    Yep... I'll vouch :)

We've been on 'home time' this week, so hopefully most bumps will be ironed out before Saturday when we head back out... But if not, we'll deal, hopefully gracefully (at least on the outside... LOL!)... Right now trying to put the stickers on between rain drops... See what happens when we procrastinate!!

I must admit though someone was looking over our shoulder when we scheduled this home time... This 'transfer' to Swift and my sister entering Hospice and being able to spend some time with her... Really thankful for having this week off!!

Question for some of the O/O out there... Did your 1099's match what you calculated for income? Ours seems to be $7000 off...

Arkansas Frost and marlowhy Thank this.
  10. Haven't gotten Centrals yet-haven't been home. But Primes seems really wonky, but we expected as much.

Today was definitely easier. It seems my dm has at least figured his was around the new system and was able to work with me on getting somewhere I can get this truck fixed. Still haven't had a single mac2 or 6 go through. It seems dm's are fixing it though if you send a mac0 with the load and trl number. It seems that we aren't going to be in perpetual crisis, but I still don't like the way things are going. I'm hoping those of us on dedicated will get somewhat insulated from the madness just as we were at central.

Also, I was wondering why I didn't get my paycheck... Good thing I have cash reserves.

Lady K and Arkansas Frost Thank this.
