The main thing to do is not constantly run against your speed limiter and stay around 65 mph. Progressive shift and don't always run cruise. Try to coast over the top of hills and let gravity and a little fuel get you back to speed. Try to keep your turbo from constantly spooling (uses more fuel) keep boost around 15 psi. If you have the cash look for a ScangaugeD and it will show you all that I just stated. If you don't have cash on hand to buy one use your ears. Keep your music down and you can hear when your turbo kicks in. If you are losing that much in fuel mpg check your filter if you have a clear bowl type and check fuel level in bowl if it's 3/4 change it out. But if you have an enclosed filter try changing them you might have a dirty filter. Hope this will help you out some.

No one is forcing you to go to orientation. There are those who are and will be successful and there are those who will not be very successful at all. I believe this thread is a gathering of those who are successful during their stay at JCT. That is a very big reason why it seems like most of the JCT lease/purchase drivers are doing pretty good in their business...you have an extremely large percentage of the those who are successful in here, as opposed to the handful of those, in this particular thread, who are not. Is that the case throughout the entire company? I'm not sure.

I think it is no different than walking into a room filled with college football fans and saying "everyone loves college football" Not everyone loves college football, but everyone in that room does.

As stated recently by Sharpp in this thread (post 2333), he believes most of the Internationals are multiple-issue trucks. The Prostars are well-known for their problems, so my guess is a driver will get one in orientation because they don't have what he or she wants, so he (or she) takes it and drives it until they can trade it in for something they really want.

As I have stated before, I am not a JCT driver, these are simply my opinions based on what I have read in this thread.

Which part? The miles are here. All of the new drivers can confirm that. I've posted images of my actual settlements. There's no magic here. Camaro355 is pretty accurate; you should be able to clear about $.38/mile plus safety bonus here. That's hardly a big selling point, IMO.

As for leasing the same truck 11/12 times, not ALL of those drivers failed. Some moved away from the Prostars on to Cascadias. The maintenance costs of the Prostar has hurt many drivers, and it's good to see the last of them go.

There are some good posts on here about why some people fail here. I posted a link on the FAQ page where that is discussed. The reason that I started this thread was to help drivers learn more about JCT, and whether JCT would be a fit for them before they committed. Too many drivers come over here unprepared, and I'm happy to say that the readers of this thread have consistently done better than their fellow drivers in orientation.

This thread is not designed to be a recruiting tool. Although, to use one of the FMCSA's favorite explanations, it is an unintended circimstance. Sharpp started this thread to chronicle his experiences with JCT (good and bad), but it seems to have taken on a life of it's own. We all comment and offer our own experiences to help each other. There are posters that do not work with JCT, but ask want information, and we gladly offer what we can. If we don't have an answer to a given question, we try to point them in the right direction to get the info they want. I have said before that "You will have issues arise no matter where you go..." The thing that makes me most comfortable with JCT is that nothing has come ip that we couldn't work out and come to an agreement on. So I will say that JCT may not be the right company for everyone to work with, but they are the right company for me. Y'all be careful out there.

    Are you drunk-posting again? :sign5:
(just teasing, no harm meant, my guess is text-to-speech or a touch-screen gone a bit haywire)

Sorry about the typos...I was trying to use more than 1 finger at a time to type on my phone (danged fat fingers) and the swipe feature kicked in. Sometimes, the sdvances in technology hurt more than help!

I know the mods don't want the grammar police showing up, but with so many goofy letter combinations, I knew it wasn't simply misspelled words. It had to be something else, but it was funny.

Thanks for not taking my commentary the wrong way.
