I have a Volvo 670 2007 with a Cummins isx I'm in Chicago its negative 9 degrees my truck sat up for 2 days I go to start the truck and the truck moves and does a half a turn on the starter I tried a few more times and I hear it working but won't turnover I call for a jump after a few hour of trying it stopped responding altoghther and then I remembered I had a guy change my windshield and he was the last person in the truck so I go in and check and yup the truck is in gear it wouldn't have started anyway but now I turn the key and nothing I wonder I burned out the starter

Do your interior lights still work? Old way to check was to put on your light and try to crank the engine. If the light dim or go out you've ran the batteries down. If they don't dim the starter isn't getting the signal. Probably have weak batteries and you killed them trying to start it in gear. Btw when the truck moves ahead when you crank it that a bad sign jk

Stupid is as stupid does, always push the clutch to the floor before attempting to start a truck.

As long as you learned your lesson. We all do silly things from time to time. Paying for the jump start is your payback.

The batteries tested all good but nothing when i turn the key I'm thinking the starter motor a wire or the solenoid went bad

Have you tried by passing everything and try going to the starter directly ?

i always just wiggle the stick to make sure its in nutral. i learned that after starting in gear with cluch in, then relcing clutch to have the truck jump and stall (luckily i had the parking brakes on.) Starting with cluch in doesn't help unless your gonna keep your foot on it untill u drive.

Well if your smart enough to check your in neutral b4 taking foot off the clutch it helps lol, but if your gonna check the stick why not just do it b4 you start.
