Can't wait to hear how everyone did today with their stike activities. The forum here has been unusually quiet which can only cause me to think that everyone is either parading around various city parks, or parked on the freeway somewhere or possibly in jail. Since there have been absolutely no news reports, I wonder if this was just more bark than bite.:sleepy4:

it's about time for a trucker's strike all the bull #### we all put up with!! companies, insurance, fuel, gone from home. It's time we all, if we all had the GUTS!! to put and end to the crap we go through. and shut this country down! for a day or two! thats all it would take. Truckers get treated like crap!! Name 3 things in your house that dont come by a truck?? Everybody whines about he mortgage rates and foreclosers. If truckers refused to run for one day this country would go under. and we are at the bottom of the list as far as pay and benefits!!

No news report on strikes, but I have heard many news reports about protest convoy's. Fox News has covered the stuff in Harrisburg, PA. About 2hours ago, they said there is another planned for tommorrow morning I think.

I keep hearing April 1st 2008. Problem is, Teamsters, OOIDA, and the like are NOT saying a word about it. Now the ATA is a different story...they are wanting mandatory speed limiters on trucks to help cut fuel costs. Can you IMAGINE that asinine comment from them? A bunch of MORONS run the ATA, IMHO. Truckers are down now...and here comes the ATA to kick truckers in the face while they are down!!! WHY does the ATA want all trucks shut down??? I imagine it is so the trucking company's that they bend over to want ALL trucks at the same speeds so JB Hunt can compete better and other's will be stuck at 62 as well...the ATA is using this to F you, truckers! Make no mistake...the ATA is NOT for truckers, but for HUGE trucking company's!

Bottom line...truckers had better pull their head's out of their ### of they will continue to suffer and suffer. Dear ATA, YOU DO NOT SPEAK FOR TRUCKERS!

:biggrin_2556:I have seen dates ranging from the 24 of March to May 1
If we can not agree on a date ,How can we agree on anything?
As i see from the posts there are 3 major issues ,Fuel prices, brokers and cheap freight,

We need a date where we have the time to get the word out and get it out broad. Something like 08-08-2008. Easy enough for a website adn its a date you cant forget, 8808. if I had the cashflow id make stickers and hand them every single driver I saw, sort of like a lot lizard sticker. Itll catch fast and there will be enough time to get the word out. But my problem is when the news gets hold of it, who will be the spokesperson, and all that stuff? just an idea, but then again, it only matters to those who want it to.

Organizing collective actions is one of the core purposes of unions. As the Teamsters are not taking on this responsibility, I'd say there's a problem... though I assume that O/Os, as independent small businesses, are not their "jurisdiction" in the first place.

As one who is about to enter the industry, I hope this snowballs from here and the country takes notice - they WILL take notice, if enough of you join in.
