Will China's demand for oil keep the patch going longer?

I don't doubt there is a correlation for volcanic heat to produce more oil near it. I would guess the heat forces it to get thinner and migrate faster, pooling up in various pockets nearby.

I'm no geologist, but remember hearing years ago, oil was created from organic matter, mostly plankton from ancient oceans. So I googled this question, "Where does oil come from". There is a nice, simple to read explanation on about.com. In short, oil is much older than dinosaurs. Bacterial mats are the primary organic matter that creates oil Coal came from dead vegetation, and is not as old as oil.

Interesting stuff for sure, but I'm not a scientist and I don't even know of any papers I can cite. So, please don't stalk me because I don't buy the conspiracy theory. It appears that is common with guys who grew up in the Cold War era -- conspiracies with no logical basis on facts.

What? Biology cannot create anything. Biology is the scientific study of living things, if I remember 10th grade biology class correctly. And how does it use methane?

    On a lighter note.

I heard only certain bacteria produce methane gas as a byproduct, or waste; and all humans are not gifted with having a symbiotic relationship with these special organisms, or critters, if you prefer.

For most humans that lack these special critters, flatulents are mostly air they ingest that is passed through the body. It doesn't smell nice, but its not flammable. All one must do for a simple test is to strike a match near one's ####.

Now, if you will excuse me, I must attend to the window before my cab explodes.

Yes, oil can be different colors but still when in a pit will look green. In sight tubes it looks different colors, when foaming it looks different colors, when in a pit looks green. Very fascinating liquid and it's lighter than water and separates and sits on top of water!

The economy is so manipulated at this point it's not acting as a true capitalist economy should. We are truly in uncharted waters!

I remember back in my high school years in the 70s (there it is again) being drunk and stoned and lighting them up untill we woried about a flashback to the refinery. What we were lighting was pdobably h2s. Only one in three people have the ability to produce methane. And yes it is a biological process. And yes it is mostly algis thst make up oil deposits.and yes i have some coal fossols that clearly display the layering of leaves from some ancient georgia swamp. Imagine this. The entire globe laden with greenhouse gases producing a consistent temperature world wide so hence no wind. One hundred foot tall pithy trees with grass-blade like leaves and foot long mosquitos flying around. No animals yet.

I wonder what it sounded like?

All the limestone around used to be part air. Calcium carbonate. It took the addition of shelled sealife to work unimaginable mellenia to fix most of the carbon dioxide out of the air making it harder for land based plant life but finally bringing the co2 saturation down to the point where air wasnt toxic for oxygen dependant animals. Out of the sea we rose.

    Maybe the China sea...

I believe the answer is a resounding yes, chinas oil demand will keep the boom going. World wide demand for oil is about 100 million barrels per day and climbing. Sorry for the hijack but I could not let disinformation about where oil comes from continue

They mean the economy...But....What we are going through is not quite like the 70's....
First off...The Interest Rates are nowhere near what we had in the 70's....

    21% then......3.25% now....

    Send em to school and...
We do live under an umbrella of political lies but to infer that the source of oil is an alchemic transfiguration of stable materials is intriguing but far fetched. The old Occam's razor where the simplest explanation is the likeliest answer holds true most of the time. But yes i agree China and India are now going to create a sustained demand for oil and oil-based products. China is owning more and more oil interests as time passes and will have some say in where and when exploration occurs. These energy companies are globalists and have had no alligence to any particular nation, not if its gonna cost them anything(dont know if intrests owned by a foriegn country could change that?)Like the Bush family and its interests lying in the Caymans. Grand Cayman Island where a four story building is home to over 2000 companies (tax advantage dont ya know.) The momentum is going to expand at a rate yet unseen. India without US style regulatory aagencies are building little light underpoweded cars that people can afford. And India's people are going places. They spend a workshift writing code or answering americas tech support lines and then they are off to let it all hang out. Me i haul another load and then another and then another and retire to my little 4X6 sleeper and nap till the next load.

If coal is 450 million years old, then how old is oil? Point is, we have vast reservoirs of the stuff so let me repeat that the chances of us running out are very slim. Heck, in the UK for instance the experts reckon that we still have 300 yrs left of coal and we can fit into California easy. And we've really hammered the coal supplies for the past 100 yrs.
oil is no different but I very much doubt we will be using it in the future. There's much cleaner and abundant fuels out there. And who knows, the scientists are probably working on forms of energy we haven't even heard of yet. I certainly believe that space travel has to be kicked up a few notches for it to be a viable form of travel. Traveling at speeds of 100,000 mph isn't going to cut it. A million MPH ? Now we are talking
As for Janet Hellen, you may want to check some history out there regarding " quantative easing " aka money printing as what she's going to continue to do in the short term. I dont see how it's going to help the economy but there's a country in Europe as in Germany who did the same thing in the 1930s and ended up with massive hyper inflation. So it's going to be interesting what will happen. But it seems every country is doing some form of money printing. I guess it's a race to the bottom. Weak currencies abound, not just the dollar. But the Chinese may well take advantage of the situation.
