If I am reading this right, he was told by his dispatcher that he was done for the weekend but was not routed to his house. If that is what you are saying then he did not have the right to drive a company vehicle to his house. He would have had the right to lock the truck up and have you come get him.

The charge of $1000 for an accident is another thing all together. They have no legal right to charge for that. The person who was at fault for the accident, the woman who struck him, would be at fault and her insurance should pay for any damage done to your truck. Her insurance should also cover any damage that your boy friend suffered from the accident which would include any mental stress that his company is applying to him for the wreck. Get an accident lawyer. And if I can read between the lines, I think your boy friend has suffered some head and neck injuries as well as some soft tissue damage. He needs a personal injury lawyer as well.

Do not let anyone bully you into agreeing to a $1000 fine for being hit. Also, if the other person was ticketed and hit you in the rear, the accident is unpreventable.

Now if he let the truck roll back and hit her, all of what is going on makes sense. Are you sure you have the facts correct.

A lot of companies don't like to pay dh miles for hometime if it is going to be more than 50-60 miles. They will usually try to route you as close to home as they can to keep the miles down. If he put on 500 miles, then that was a really big misunderstanding. The policy book may have what they expect for hometime. Hubby has been routed at a previous company as far away as 155 miles or so. The company he is with now allows more mileage, but they to do try to route him as close as possible, but he is not home every month either. When he is home, he may take off 4 days.

If they are fining him for the damages to his truck because of rearend accident, then were they planning on not reporting it on his DAC. Is the fine a deductible for the insurance perhaps? Does he have a copy of the police report yet. If not you need to send for it, it most likely will be a few dollars and according to how fast they are, it may take a week or two for it to be available. This is the one I would really be having a fit over I guess.

I forgot to add my bf's thoughts on the accident. He said to ask him if he read over any paperwork that was done at his safety meeting. Also, what was he doing when he got hit? His camera would've come on and they look at the footage closely. If he was doing anything he shouldn't have been they know it. My bf's went off in our driveway when a friend of ours was being a smart Alec and rocked the truck real hard. They saw me inside the truck and called him on it the next day. I ended up having to fill out the rider release just to keep him from getting in trouble. I usually only ride to grocery store or church in it lol.

Guess it was a good thing you were parked in the driveway, that looks like it should have excused you being in the truck, you could have been helping clean the insides. Guess that doesn't count though. Also remember if you are in the truck, never sit in the drivers seat with the curtains open, just in case dot comes by and sees you; esp if you don't have a cdl.

I guess they are afraid of a lawsuit if a person was in the truck and the driver had a wreck in it. They carry a different insurance to cover riders and I believe some companies have it worded that the company is not liable for any injuries while you are riding as a passenger. You know the old sue me liability.

Started a garnishment without my knowledge for a wrecker bill of 550 dollars for getting their loaded trailer unstuck!!!!!!! They will rip you off every chance they get!!! Then sue you if you quit!!! Lesson learned! GET OUT as soon as you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you're saying they made you pay for a wrecker on a stuck trailer. How did the trailer get stuck in the first place? If you got it stuck then they have every right to charge you for the wrecker bill. Also if you owe them money still after you quit/are fired then they have every right to sue for money owed. I bet if they owed you money that you'd be wanting to sue them.

Im am sorry you appear to have had a bad experience with them but we are very happy with them.
