Sorry D2d, wish i was there. went last week with my "refresher" student. Wasn't a big deal for him but i was pretty impressed with the place. A lot more stuff in there, could have spent a few more hours. Prices weren't any different than anywhere else i go but the place was big clean and had a huge selection. Its getting hard to find the truckstop guide, which i still use, and it seems that they had 3 or 4 different books available.

I did not try the restaurant but i hear it is good.

I've been there a few times. You should checkout the truck museum. Pretty cool. There's a fairly small cab over in there with 3,000,000 miles all driven by one driver, I believe.

Planeview Truck Plaza on US 41 just south of Oshkosh, WI (across from where the EAA fly-in convention is held every year -- planeview, get it?). Had hoped to make it back to Marshfield today but fate, HOS and the weather had other ideas.

Crashing out in the yard in Darlington. Says no overnight, but there's a ton of room here, and nobody else here. And we're both whooped. Lost our Georgia run to somebody that needed to get home I guess. Grabbing a relay here and off to Pittsburgh tomorrow.

Last time I was in Pittsburg the shipper said, "Go down the street to the corner and make a left. Then back up a block, over the railroad tracks and around the tight 90 degree blind corner. After you get around that you'll see the docks about one block behind you." Not sure that Roehl 'guidelines' allow any of that.

i wanna go see some of that airshow someday. I was at appleton last year and some old wwII bombers flew in there over the terminal, pretty cool stuff. I have yet to stop at that truck stop.

Well I'm glad you did not violate your HOS. Considering you're turning in the truck in for your sabbatical seems that one might just consider running a little bit over the 14 to get it done.

If you do decide to get back in that Roehl truck in the future, be sure to watch your time frames. I just spent 9 days with a driver on a refresher. He was out 2 years to tend to a family members health situation and decided to come back. He had to spend the three weeks in Marshfield and go through the normal process with trainer and phase III. It was a fun week for me. His FM called me and asked me how his backing was going. I told her that he backs better than I do...lol.

Did you call maintenance on the Driver Line? Since you are or were in the Green Bay Region, If I were you, I'd be asking if they can route me to the Marshfield or Appleton terminal for the Bunk Heater fix at the least. Till then, a snow brush or something you can prop on the accelerator to pop up the rpms, just enough to keep the truck running through the night with the dash heat on.

Also those miles you drove, could easily be added to the next load, with a simple call to FM.

I like the Plainview restaurant. They have a dish there that's a combination of ground beef, mushrooms, mashed potatoes and peaches. It's completely, filling, incredibly unique and delicious. I haven't found said dish anywhere else in America or Canada.
