I just purchased a 1997 FLD 120 with the single stack on the passenger side behind the door. I want to change to dual stacks but I want to keep it looking nice with the factory Freightliner mounting hardware on each side as this truck has been meticulously maintained and is in near perfect condition. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could get these without going to Freightliner? I don't want to "engineer" anything on this truck. This is the cleanest 17 year old truck I have ever seen.

You should be able to find everything you need at a big truck salvage yard. Something that got hit on the front or flopped on the passenger side should be good.

Check prices at your freightliner dealer, it may be cheaper and easier to just go buy new and paint to the color you want.

Keep in mind you will have to drill or grind the rivets off a junk truck.

Find a junk yard Freightliner classic and use it's mounting hardware. Or if you want a new part, get the last six numbers of a Freightliner classic VIN so you can order directly from the dealer so in that way everything is still clean

Thanks for the info. I probably sound picky but anything worth doing is worth doing right.

Not at all! I know where you're coming from...do it right the first time because the second time may not be as pretty

My cab has them bolted on with stainless 5/16" bolts. Brackets are cast that bolt to cab. The others are just angle steel that bolt to pipes.
put a thin gasket between the cab and cab brackets. Cut isolators from .25" rubber and use flat washers and 3/8" bolts.

Try to get what you need at a salvage, I don't know how Freightliner prices parts but a small heat shield bracket that would easily fit in my shirt pocket was $65 from Peterbilt.... hell a clutch pedal rubber cap was $28!

I threw duals on my century a few months back and went the salvage yard route for everything needed, in hindsight after a little more digging, I could have come out cheaper going to the dealer. Check pricing

So I just come across this post and am in the process of finding the parts to add stacks to my 1998 freightliner fld. Curious as to what is needed on the inside of the cab when adding mounting brackets.
