Don't worry about grammar and such. We can understand you fine. I hope you understand me when I tell you to go in to this new job with your head up and with a good attitude.

I am not sure, I could be wrong, but I think that is the first time I've heard you offer advice like that. Very true though. You need to go in with a good attitude and keep your head up. If things don't seem right, send in an OPEN Message over QualComm and 99% of the time, they won't tell you to run illegal.

He's already going in. It's too late to back out now. If he'd asked me his q even a month earlier, the answer would have been very different.

I used to drive for a few years in the 90's, and Swift had a rep for pretty much the same things you listed. But I can tell you that Cannon Express is even worse. I guess everyone has a horror story or two on just about any co. you can name.

You know.....Ishmael.....If I were you, I'd not let the world know my name, my company, where I live, that sort of thing. You should maintain anonymity.

You could create a new persona/username and start again. You're still early in the game as a poster here.

Later you may meet with the wrath of a vindictive insider who may not be pleased with what you have to blog on sites. You know such a person won't be able to resist making an example out of ya. Nip those vindictive types in the bud.

Thank you for your detailed reply to my concerns. To quickly answer your question, yes he did contact QA. I don't want to waste these folks' time with more details about the incidents I mentioned to you.

You are a very diplomatic person, and I can see why you are where you are. If more were like you at this company, maybe there would be less negative posts about them.

    You rock Wes!

    Wes,

I had a buddy just quit from Swift and he was on his 11th month with the company, I believe. So, he still had a little more of his school loan to pay off. He had two checks coming his way but Swift took both of them as payment on his school loan. He's all upset about it and I tried poking around with my DM's and FM's to get some answers for him but they won't tell me crap about the policy on that. Can you shed any light?

Here's what gets me... I still talk to a few guys I went to the academy with who left Swift within one month of their departure and they were paid everything owed to them. They didn't get their checks basically garnished by Swift for academy loans. They got their checks and THEN were sent a bill for the academy that they could setup payments on.

Here is a guy that drove for the company for almost his full year and they just take his last two checks and so he's basically without income for two weeks while he starts up his new job.

That's ridiculous. Is that company policy? Who would he call to correct that?

Are you sure they kept the pay becuse of the academy loans and not somthing eals. Like say advances, lost trip pac, maybe even driver damage to the truck or gear not turned in?

That I don't know for sure. I'll ask him. Since we ran the same account I can pretty much attest to the fact it wasn't truck damage. His truck was in pristine shape. Much better than mine. The rest of it I'm not sure.

He told me it was a 854 dollar check and a 134 dollar check (his final "day/week") that they kept for themselves. That's a lot of money for it to be advances or trip packs, isn't it? I mean, does one of those missing trip packs actually cost a grand?
