Well, me and my dad have just about had it with that stupid on guard crap on our truck. The constant beeping really gets on my nerves, and just drives me up a wall. I'm tempted to do what another driver at the company did: put my fist through the dash mounted thing. Or go out and smash the radar box on the front of the truck. But they'd notice it when the truck gets serviced, so not a good idea. There is no way on our truck to get behind the dash and unplug it or remove the fuse or whatever is back there. I was wondering, is there any cheap, easily obtainable material that will basically block or attenuate the beam from the radar so it can't detect anything? I know certain metals or materials will pretty much block any electromagnetic radiation emitted. Any suggestions on how to easily and non-destructively disable this highly irritating thing?
How to disable the stupid on guard system

The bottom of a5gal. bucket has worked in past?
Mammie, JudgeRightly and Oldironfan Thank this. -
Increase your following distances, it'll quit beeping.
I've got On guard crash avoidance in my Freightliner. A far better system than the bendix ones in Kw's. Drove a T-660 with Bendix crash avoidance, wing man and lane departure. That was way to many dingers and beepers. -

Sometimes, the stupid thing will start beeping when the vehicle is one or even two hundred feet ahead, and pulling away quickly. I think that's a plenty safe distance. Also, sometimes it goes off when there is absolutely nothing in front of us, or just lock up the brakes for no reason, practically throwing you through the window. Sorry, but this thing is total junk, and is very dangerous. There should be a way to block the radar so it can't work.
