I have a top dawg dash cam the cam works well in the day soso at night.
The only bad thing I can say about it is that the software to install on your computer
    Does not work well.
And the instructions are kinda lacking.

Actually I'm pointing out that video captures your driving judgment, too, and if you're going to use one, as a truck driver, your judgment better be above reproach. Do you have any criticism of what I wrote, or just that I wrote it...?

I think I have a solution for my problem. I found it in some obscure website with another truckers idea. I am going to buy a 4 camera home system. I am sure that is what US Express are using. One mounted on each mirror facing down the side of the trailer. 1 mounted on each side of the cab taking in the road from a cross fire position. As the guy said it will record the speedometer and my GPS so all data is there too.
The 'box' records for 25 hours nonstop and can be monitored either one camera at a time or split for all 4 on a smartphone, computer or tablet.
They run about $400 and you can get them in Walmart. Manufacturer is Swann.

i think its rather tacking and grandiose when a driver shares one thing and people harp on something completely unrelated

we all drive differently, some drive strictly by the book, others go by "gut feelings", i dont drive your truck, you cant drive mine

i havent had any accidents my way, hopefully you havent had any your way, but we dont drive the same

i saw nothing wrong with the way he was driving, that doesnt mean i drive the way he drives, we are all different

    Hey dieselboss.
Are there any options for smaller or flush mount cameras for the 4 camera recorder?

I have a Promaster high top 3500 and those outside cameras are awful big to be mounting to the sides of a van.

You can use a flush-mount/side-mount style camera instead in that instance. You will have to run 4 stainless steel (for rust protection) machine screws into whatever you are bolting it to for this style. Finish it with a light bead of silicone around the edges where it mates to the vehicle. These are set to reverse image to point backwards.
