I know everyone goes through the same physical. I dont remember having to lift that much weight. I will say that out of 28 or so people we only had one fail the physical and he looked like he was about to die any minuet. lots of very out of shape people we able to do the physical.

I went to orientation last September and everybody I was with in that class had to lift the 120 pounds. Not very high i think it was like knee or waist height. Be careful not to set it down too hard like I did or they'll be evil and make you do it again.

I took the physical and passed it today. The ability test isn't that bad. We did have one guy not pass it for not being able to pick up the weight, but he weighed about the same. After drug testing the check your vision and blood pressure. If you are big guy they'll have you fill out a packet for sleep apneia like I did. They have you do some movement testing nothing hard. You will also have to step test where you step up on a box for 3 minutes to a certain beat then they check your pulse. The weights is pretty easy. They won't tell you how much it is. They act like it is top secret info or something. You have to move 7-8 weighted bags from one bucket to the next and then back. You pick up a crate from the floor that is 40-60lbs and put it on the table and back down on the floor. You'll do the same with another box, but you'll bring it down to your chin and back down to the floor. They have another box that is already about chest high that you have to lift over your head and it weighs 40-50lbs. After that you'll take the crate you lifted to your chin and they'll add a couple of sandbag weights to it and you have to lift it from the floor to about knee high. Straighten your arms out and stand straight and that is how high you have to lift it. Do that once then she'll add two more weight bags to it. I say in total is about a 120lbs. After that you'll do job related task. One is to get on a box that is about 5ft tall and using three points of contact. You can use the tarps to stand on to get on and off with. You also have to lift another crate that is about 40lbs or so about head high and put it on another box and take it down. You also have to get on a back of a trailer using three points of contact and get back down doing the same. Then get in and out of the truck doing the same. All in all it is easy, just takes awhile if you have a big class. Just make sure you know your medical history before coming here. If you had any surgeries recently make sure you have something from the doctor that shows you have been released. If you make it through this day you pretty much have it made unless you fail a test or anything. All test are open note or computer. If you got anymore questions just let me know.

That doesn't sound too incredibly difficult, I'm 6'3 and weigh about 240-250, I don't really work out so I was a little worried about the weights, but I should be able to do that. I am hoping I don't need the sleep apnea test, I just don't know what they consider "big guy". Do they show you the 3 points of contact they want used? Obviously I know the 3 points of contact getting in and out of the truck itself, but not the others. Do have to do all of the lifting at one time or is it done in like stations where you breaks in between? Thank you for your in for info, that's a big help for sure. How much are pushing map reading? I've been re familiarizing myself with that, but it has been a while for me. But I'd like to be as far ahead as I can be when I get there.

You shouldn't have any problems with the weight. The sleep apnea test is based on your BMI, neck size and or throat size. They don't look down it, they just want to get you the cpac or apac machine if you need it. The 3 points of contact for getting on the trailer is basically the same. Find two points to hold on to and your foot or knee will be the other. It is like climbing up on the back of a truck or anything. Nothing difficult at all. The map reading we were suppose to start on Sunday, but we had some technical difficulties with the computers and we didn't get to it today either. We are suppose to start tomorrow. Make sure you have a Motor Carriers Atlas by Rand McNally. We didn't get to it today cause the VP of Safety came and talked to us. It was a good brief and learned a lot from it.

My neck size is a 17 so that's not too bad, feel better about that now. I went and got the 2014 Motor Carriers Atlas today so I will just work on that and at least be prepared for all of that when I get there. Will you get officially hired this Thursday or next?
