nah.not really screwed in that sense.i will call my mother but sometimes she doesn't know my name due to that darn alzheimer's. no need to feel sorry for me as i get by 95% of the other trucks rather easily, and those that can roll,do so behind the very best front door.

yes ma'am i find the interstate easily enough and use it often.i don't need technology to do that as i have been out here so long,my truck knows its own way practically.those you mentioned passing me are doing so as i go by them and generally, they are on my left since they are impeding the middle lane, highly constrained by your beloved technology. so you recommend that i enter the same technology phase that you too are constrained by and stringently adhere to through your personal choice?

no thank you ma'am.I do appreciate your concern whether genuine or not.

i was really looking for some real advice which may help all drivers out here, especially those relegated to and held back by all that technology you reference, and are unable to make their own decisions due to their dm's,qualcoms, and elogs managing their time for them.

the south has been taken prisoner by mother nature and many drivers, both seasoned and not,may actually need a little direction. I know that i do on a freakwent basis as w/o gps and all,i rely on the cb and the cell phone for directions in and out of new destinations. i am adamant during this freak winter especially and ask for direction quite often. anywhere i am going, another driver has already been and will happily direct me off the top of his head and out of the kindness of his or her heart and i do the same when asked. no gps required-

    ha!

Well just remember you are in a big heavy truck so obviously the rain and snow won't have any effect on you. Duh it's physics man.

i see you are pulling a chip wagon or a walking floor so you know of what you type.i pull an end dump and yes sir, gassing on it does indeed get you out of what you were put in especially when loaded or unloading off the beaten path where no concrete or asphalt is available. sometimes it reminds me of rides at the fair.those never off the road and in the rutted mud in a big truck just have no idea.

my next will be double framed and maybe hendrickson equipped.

On the other Hand.. All the technology is going to do is tell you that you are screwed! The GPS wont tell him any more than his atlas, The computer and qualcom will not tell him any more than he already knows, its raining and suppose to turn to snow. Now maybe a weather app would help so he could look at a radar and see where the storm is coming from, but if its coming from the direction he needs to head, well again he knows he is screwed.

BTW I am completely wired to the gills with elctronics and hate it, but it does come in handy. I am just playing devils advocate here!!! Your smart phone has the ability to show you where the storm is coming from with a weather app, but again so does the tv at the truck stop.

    Best of luck!!!!

Why is it that so many feel the need to ridicule someone who is obviously asking for help? I see it time and time again here on the forums. I would luv to point out a couple but right now I'm eating my lunch which is a pattyj melt and some fries. Serious questions deserve serious answers--don't you agree?

Can't you see this poster is joking?.But you're not a driver so that's understandable.
