Anyone know what kind of scanner you can use for the qualcomm? I found a great deal on a Docketport 465 just not sure if its compatible with our qualcomms and swifts system.

Company drivers: before you sign up for per diem look at the way it's set up. They will lower your pay .10/mi and give you .085/mi per diem. The way they do it is a total scam. They save money on payroll tax and unemployment insurance, and on top of that reduce your pay .015/mi. If you pay less than 15% tax you will actually gross less.

I finished training and upgraded Monday Feb 3. I got a truck, assigned a multi-stop load heading near home. I wasn't trained on the new system, they just handed me a sheet of paper that gave a general description on what to send in and when. Now, for reasons unknown at the time, I couldn't get fuel routing or directions so i had to route myself on the entire load, my dm tried but the fuel routing he sent had me going to texas. Keep in mind this is my first solo load. I had a stop in north Sacramento and two stops in San Francisco. Fortunately I called my friend and found out I'd need $25 to go over the bridge, I was completely broke so I got a personal advance scanned in the receipt with my papers. I'm not sure I did anything correctly, a lot of my macro's got kicked back, but I delivered on time and only ran into a issue when paying a lumper fee, comdata somehow put the money on a check that didn't exist, took me an hour to get it sorted. I got back to the swift terminal, scanned my papers(the people in the office were extremely nice and helpful), dropped an empty, and was heading out the gate to bobtail home when I was finally given an explanation as to why I had no routing. Apparently the load was screwed up in their system from the get go. The trailer number was entered wrong on the bol, someone had swapped a 7 and 1 around, and in their computer system someone added a C in front of it. I was told that this had happened to a lot of loads and I wasn't the only one to experience it. In any case, the dispatcher I spoke with at the gate said they'd fix it for me and let me head on home! Can't say that Central doesn't do a trial by fire, I had to do 2 tight backs from the street in frisco... Hopefully I'll get a few nice easy walmart distribution centers on some long miles when I get back on the road.
Aimstraight, Doulos, Clyde07 and 1 other person Thank this.
