Starting March 10th

Resubmitted my application after having to back out in September for family issues, and just got notification that I'm good to go and will be starting on March 10th. Yes, you calendar checkers, that's a Monday. According to my recruiter, orientation has changed up a bit and they are going to be starting on Mondays.

I'll do my best to either update this thread as things go, or start a new one with a more applicable title. I live in Washington State (the western part), and am planning on going flatbed unless either someone provides info that changes my mind or I find during training that reefer may be a better fit. Hopefully home time won't be a big issue out here. I'm on the freeways a lot and don't see many Prime trucks.


For those of you worried about having to delay your start, be honest with your recruiter, keep your nose clean, and you shouldn't have any problem being accepted again when things work out on your end.

Hope to bump into some of you that post up here regularly when I get out there.

 

Booked my transportation last night. Will be flying to Kansas City, spending the night there, then taking the bus from there to Springfield. Got a far better deal on that than any ticket to Springfield or Branson.

Just confirmed with my recruiter, Prime will reimburse .10/mile. Not quite the cost of the bus ticket from Portland, OR. But I'll only be about $100 out of pocket for the trip.

On my way now via Southwest airlines to Kansas City where I will spend the night and catch a greyhound in the morning for Springfield. Should be at the campus inn around noon to one. So it begins.
