I know that some of you guys get a fuel surcharge. I was wondering if it evens out after fuel has sky rocketed so much, or are you guys feeling the pinch?

it depends. every company is different, every broker is different. some pay all and then some if they keep below the mpg it is rated for. Other guys it only covers 1/3 the cost.

My truck, as I operate, gets an average of 6.4 mpg. The surcharge I receive is calculated for a break-even value at 5.5 mpg. The higher fuel goes the more money I make on loaded miles. Empty miles have no surcharge, but they are few.:biggrin_25520:
