Where is everyone #2!!

I was with another hand last night we stopped to throw iron. I jumped out had my truck chained up and walked back to his truck before he even got his chains off the rack.

 

One day. I want to watch and learn

 

One day I want to forget that I ever knew how. Lol

 

Wanna hear something really sad, but I will admit to it.
Both Haulhand and Leftlane have met my wife and I.
So one day at a shipper in Wa. we had to chain up just to get around in their lot.
I tell my wife what we need to do. She says ok I'll help..
She got her side done before I did and then when I was looking at my side, I put them on wrong side up...
She had never thrown chains in her life and did it faster and better than me.

 

first time I threw iron took me like an hour and a half but I'm down to about 45 minutes. Hate it with a passion but watched a guy last week throw four singles in 15 minutes and thought wow I wish I was that good. Luckily haven't had to throw any so far this winter

 

That's funny Carl. I don't kno that I'd admit that.

 

I know I'll get ribbed on it, but I gotta give her credit.. I'll be glad when she gets back next Tues. I really miss having my wife/ swamper helping me.
But with her and jet lag, she won't be worth a crap for at least 1 week..

 

Its nice seeing how much you appreciate her help.

 

Well it's been over 2 months and I got some garden work I really want to do...

 

Well, got to ArcelorMittal at 0730 to load up my oversize plates for Houston. Got in the door and almost loaded by 0830 till the brilliant crane operator decides he will pick the entire 40k stack in one shot, with the blocking in the middle, using the hooks instead of the mags. Well, he set them down and BAM they crack ..... So I spend the next 3 hours waiting for quality control to come down and do their deal. Then they give me another set of plates, but go ahead and load the 5 tucks behind me first. So I finally got out of there about noon. Sometimes I just wonder what the hell these guys are thinking??
