I have a 2009 model VNL64T-670 Volvo tractor and the dash displays Tractor rear parking lights short circuit. I was wondering if there is a common issue location that I have missed, since I have taken loose pretty much the whole harness and unplugged every connection and yet the dash doesn't change.
I have also ohmed out the harness and did not find anything.

i know if you put led bulbs in the circuits, it will cause this because the resistance in the circuit drops. volvo can turn the bulb check function off. which is what i did when i swapped all bulbs to led's. it didn't cost much and didn't take long.

All the lighting is incandescent except for the visor markers and has been working fine, all the lights are working except for the small outside parking lights and the tail lights. Brake lights, turn signals, 4 ways, headlights, visor markers, all work fine.
With all the LCM's I was wondering if it is common for one to cause this issue?

That warning is on your dash because your taillights aren't working. If they work on the trailer and not on the truck then it means you have a broken/corroded wire. If they don't work on the trailer either then it's most likely a fuse. Just went through this with my T660.. it was about a five minute fix. Gonna need a light tester our multimeter.

Thanks Mitch, I will investigate the wiring further since the trailer lights work but not the truck. More to come when fixed.

Same thing happened to me earlier this winter running in a lot of slush and snow. Pulled the big connection apart at the end of the frame, made sure it was dry and not corroded. After the lights had been turned off for awhile it would reset itself, start running again and a bit later would come back on. Pulled all the rear lights out in the frame and on the hangars and cleaned them, puttem' back in and haven't had an issue since. Musta been a wire or something shorting out on one of the lights with all the moisture and such. They're all LED's.

Hmmm. I just had the same issue with my front lights. I had to replace the wiring harness. winter salt/chemicals have corrosion properties.

30yrwrench, I have the same problem with my 2006 vnl670, everything is working except the parking light. By "all" which connections and plugs did you clean? Reply would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy. I would replace the entire rear wiring harness for the rear. Wasn't expensive. I also encased mine in split loom and wrapped it with electrical tape. Pretty hard to install, but, should last a while. It took me about 4 hours of careful cutting/reshaping the split loom and covering with electrical tape.
I also noticed possible issues with the bulb itself. I ended up replacing my bulbs because the connectors themselves were pretty messed up. I used dielectric grease to help protect the connectors as well.

Use a volt tester to check the connectors. A simple 5 dollar tester to check if the connector is hot or not will work.
