Thanks unloader. Were down to 17 minutes to have a plan to get me in a truck or I'm calling enterprise. Talked to my old boss again this morning and the offer still stands. It's sad to see what was one of the best starter companies die a corporate death.

I was thinking the same thing. Now I don't know who to recommend to potential drivers to start with.

Hope things work out for you P4P, as well as the other drivers here getting the Swift treatment.

About time to consider moving this thread from the "Discuss your Favorite Trucking Company here" column, no?

I was thinking the same. I wonder if that's why it's been so quiet around here.

I picked up a <250 mile load on the 11th with a listed delivery on the 12th, but with no appointment. The 12th came and went with no appointment. I tried every one I could get ahold of, no appointment and no explanation. The 13th comes and about mid day I get a midnight appointment. So I sat more than two days on this load. I also sat two days last month directly after losing 10 days of work due to an accident that wasn't my fault. So, I've had 1 middle of the road check in over a month. Then add that they are taking a $1000 deductable for the accident (when I signed up they said the deductable only applied if it was your fault). So, I figure no check for around 2 more weeks too. I'm bleeding money here.

l'm suppossed to take the the class for trainers the 18th, but now am having second thoughts. I need to get more info on breaking my lease before I can make an informed decision though. I was so looking forward to being a trainer.

Do you have enough in your maintenance account to cover a week or two of the truck payment after you leave?

I got what I had paid into my performance bond back as well which helped alongside my maintenance account when I left.

By no means am I trying to butter anyone up to break their lease... Just wanting to be a friendly voice from someone who broke his and "survived"...

I have just over $1000 in my account. But, I'm not sure I'd receive the same treatment as you did. I've heard of others losing $5000 or more. I'm not sure if some slip through the cracks, or if there is a difference in leases of different trucks or something else. Someone told me that since CRS doesn't own the Freightliners like they do the Peterbuilts that it is easier to get out of the contract. I'd like to talk to lawyer, but now that I've lost several thousand dollars at a very bad time (right after breaking for Christmas) that's not in the cards at the moment.

Well it's over. I'm on the sofa at home drinking a beer. Why everyone is worried about what happens when you break a lease is beyond me. The pretenses under which I signed my lease have fallen down, and the reality is I've been bought like property by a company I never wanted anything to do with. Honestly, what are they gonna do to me? I don't need credit, and I don't need a clean DAC, so unless they're gonna serve me papers I don't really care what kind of fit they throw.

Good of luck out there everyone. I'm off to my new job Monday.
