My husband is issued a comcheck, and it has meant the difference in Canada from freezing to death in subzero temperatures and getting fuel to drive south to the U.S. and home. And he's always one to never park in the fuel lanes. But I so agree with you about paying for parking in urban metros, especially where they've banned trucks from parking anywhere in the metropolitan area. What do they expect? They want the goods that come in by truck, but they don't want trucks in the city? That's just rude and short-sighted, IMO.

Absolutely, If my company only buys fuel from Pilot/J then wouldn't you think they would offer them a discount for being a loyal customer and to keep them fueling 100% of the time at only their truck stops versus going to a competitor to buy fuel? That's a no brainer... Its pretty obvious that every truck driver that fuels there is going to purchase stuff in the store and what not that have a higher markup therefor the truck stops makes up the difference on the discounted fuel... That's a no brainer apparently you don't see...

I dealt with the same comments when I drove for a convenience store chain, people would complain about the prices, I said it's a CONVENIENCE Store, not a discount market.

So, since they discount the fuel to your company, are they supposed to discount everything else to you? Apparently you don't see it either. Is it the stores fault they charge $2 a bottle for water, when you can walk into a grocery store and pay $4 for a whole case of the same water? Don't like it, don't buy it.

If you want to complain about markups, you don't want to know what the markup is on furniture.

most of the pay lots have free parking if ya buy 50 gallons of fuel or spend 20 bucks in the store or restaurant, I think the main complaints are from guys who realize that would mean buying about 13 hotdogs or 18 cups of ramen noodles at a 1.19 or 4 5 dollar footlongs,

that usually a weeks worth of groceries

disclaimer, the above post was entirely in fun, don't get yer panties in a wad

So they closed one thread on this matter and u all found the original to rant in. FYI if you don't like paying to park move along. Very simple to do. For the TA n petro there very helpful. I give this thread 3 days before it's locked down also.

Once had an item bought at $150 and priced to sell in store at $2560 on the packing list bound from Maryland to Ontario.
