On an unrelated note, I said earlier that I found out my truck was out of service. Well I went to the shop, and they said the Alliance shop put it out of service and they couldn't see why. Well they've turned it into a company truck and they can't clear it because they don't know what's wrong with it. Just give me a KW
this is a sign!!

When Jack went back to company, the shop gave him a new Freightliner that had been an alliance reject. They said they couldnt figure out why it was getting poor mpg. We had it for 3 months and never could figure her out. We always knew when we were overweight tho. She liked too heavy.

I would like some help with some items of concern for me. I am waiting to here back from Stevens if I have been accepted, they told me Friday that I was tentatively hired but I am waiting to find out, mean while I ran across this blog about Stevens and aside from a few people who seem unhappy most like the company. That being said I noticed in 2010 Corporal_Clegg posted about sleep apnea, I have this problem I have been using a CPAP for over 15 years and I am quite happy with it, I sleep great, you said something along the lines that you had to get a five day print out from your machine should I get that just before I leaven and take it with me, and should I tell the Stevens Recruiter that I have apnea? They never asked me in the interview about this. I am a former high school teacher, but I have always wanted to drive long haul my father did it, and my grandfather, and quite frankly I love to drive. My children are full grown and my wife wants to come with me, I was told by the recruiter that is fine after my 90 days solo are up. Other than the apnea I have no medical issues to speak off do you see them turning me around and sending me back? I hate to waste their time and mine, and I have another company that has offered me training and a job, but a friend of mine who drives told me Stevens is the best place to get training and work a few years for. I would appreciate any help you can give such as the apnea print out, and any other papers I need to bring as well. Have a great day and thanks for any info.

My experience so far, I filled out tha online application. A recuriter called within 2 hrs, asked a few questions, I told her I was ready to go, She passed me on to a supervisor who did a phone interview. While that was going on she was doing somewhat of a background check on me ( I believe a more thorough one is done during orientation). She asked me when I wanted to start, I gave her a date, she confirmed it. She then emailed me the long-form application, told me to fax it in and call her the following morning. This I did, when I called they asked for my social, apparently everything looked good to them, and told me I was good to go.
About sleep apnea, from what I've read in this thread, and particularly its predecessor, it should not be a problem. I think you take them the reading of the days before you leave for orientation/training.enlightened one Thanks this. -
Thanks for letting me know, I was asked all the questions and had the phone interview, and she said I was informally hired what ever that means but I was not given a long form application, although it was Friday and I am sure people wanted to get home. I just hate making the other company wait for an answer they offered me the training and job already, I hate to be that guy.

Did she give you a firm date? They also sent me 2 packets; both had the long-form app. If they haven't given you a firm date, you'd best get on the horn. It seemed to go really fast to me, but I just figured that where I'm from had something to do with that.
