I've never been happy with Firestone. I had to buy some once as it was the only steer the had in lp24.5. They didn't last but 80,000 miles. I put Goodyear G572 on the drives a couple years ago when they first came out. 180,000 miles and I still have over 20/32" on all 8. I'd highly recommend them.

Thanks I'll have to check those out. Any more input on which tires to buy?

If you want a drive tire that will wear like iron try the BF Goodrich DR244 or 444 I cant remember which but Kevin R will cry about the rolling resistance.

Not the most fuel efficient but the general d660 are some good tires. Take a look at the bf Goodrich also. Don't know the number off the top of my head. If you can afford them michilen has some of the most fuel efficient tires

I just put a set of Triangle Brand tires(24.5 Low pros) All the way around 35k miles ago. No complaints so far and they are get the snot beatin out of them here in the North East Pot holes and all.Traction is outstanding in the rain and snow.Virgin rubber $285.00 Each .The drives are doing quite well but I may switch to Good Year next round on the fronts only. We'll see what happens.

I'm running 695's now and they are good in the snow and are smartway branded. I wasn't a firestone guy before because of a bad experience with steers back in the early 90s but I ran 690's for drives and they wore even and got decent life out of them so I went for the 695's. I tried 663's back in 03 but found them slippery at low speeds and on ice plus they were noisy on wet roads.

I also ran a couple of sets of fs663 on my drives. It was a good tire, other than only being able to get around 55,000 - 60,000 miles out of them. They wear out fast. I mount, rotate and check pressures myself, regularly! I would not recomend them.
