Okay if I were to start with Averitt on the Truck Lodad side and switched over to the LTL side would the LTL side honor my seniority from the truck load side ?

If you transfer from truckload to LTL you lose your seniority for a year then u gain it back after being in that position for a year

So lets see if I have this right, I go to truck load for 10 years and decide I would like to get to know them other people that live in my house. I think they are called my family, someone correct me if I am wrong. So I switch to city p&d LTL side and just like that I have no seniority. So I stay with LTL for 11 year running all the crumby city routes with late start times for a year. Then all of a sudden I have 11 year seniority and can compete for the big money line haul accounts

Yeah if you transfer after 10 years you don't gain your seniority back until you are in that position for one year

It's possible to go directly to linehaul (Averitt calls it shuttle) since so many city drivers prefer to work during the day.

    chopper103in Thanks this.

All right I got my job offer today. It took only 5 days to process my application. I am ready for the Journey to begin. I like the fact I have options with Averitt. We will see what happens

I just got to Cookesville today at 2 PM from Savannah. The drive took me about 7 and a half hours. I checked onto the hotel got my room and the phone rang it was the a tester from Averitt asking me if I would be interested in coming to the yard for the road test. I said sure why not. So I got that out of the way

I should be making my way there a week from today. Can you say what the road test consists of? Impressed so far?

the road test starts with you climbing safely in and out of a trailer then backing into a dock
then the rest is about a 20 mile drive around Cookeville making many left and right turns
just don't hit any curbs or anything else and you will be fine
