No she did not she said just tell the other company that I will be working for Stevens but that my application had to get past committee still but that it should not be a problem since I have not been arrested, or had a ticket since 1986 which was dismissed. I have had my class B with air brakes and passenger for three years. I think she was just getting ready to head out since it was Friday, I will call tomorrow.

I have a quick question when given trainers are we allowed to not work with a smoker is that an option?
-
deleted see post below
-
Try again...it didn't seem to take my response...yes, smoker/nonsmoker is an option. She asked me that during my interview. Told her either, as that's not an issue for me. Getting trained and out on the road asap is my issue.
By the way...they said nothing about having "to get past a committee..." she asked what date, I told her, she said it was open, asked when I wanted to bus up...told her I would fly in...she said to call her with flight info for a pick-up...and that I was good to go.
Again, I would call back to be sure as they did not give you a date, you have not filled out the long form app, etc. -
Thanks I will be safe.

Sleep Apnia is not an issue, all the trucks have inverters in them so plugginig it in is not a problem.
Apnia is a treatable condition and as long as it is being treated with a CPAP you will get a 1 year medical card. The only issue maybe the machine itself. If yours uses an SD Card for data storage you should be OK. I use a machine and simply take my card into the clinic every 90 days when I am on the yard and they download it to make sure I am using it and everything is copasetic.
You will be placed with a non smoking trainer if you request it. -
"waiting to hear back from committee..." is codespeak for 'whatever reporting service we use to do a preliminary on you hasn't responded yet'.
Your tentative hire is based on the information you provided. As long as the prelim comes back without any major issues, all will be fine.
Also, your name may be an issue. I remember one driver who had a very common name (i.e. John Smith). There were several persons living within 100 miles of his residence with the same name, including middle initial. Three had done prison time, one of those for capital murder.
It took a few days to clear him. Call the recruiter to follow up. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.Bobcat Tail Thanks this. -
Thanks and you guys were right there was a couple of issue that popped up under my name and so they wanted a criminal background history on me. I sent for one today from the state of Oregon, I will get it tomorrow. I know I will pass I am a licensed high school teacher so I had to pass a background check for that. My record is absolutely clear. They are going to send me to
Denver for training in advice or things I should know? I appreciate any help. -
Thanks for the information I spoke today with the recruiter and she said just to bring in a five day report on my CPAP when I come in.

This is a thread from a current driver who went to Denver. Some good info for you.
