That's what I thought. I don't remember seeing the part about automatics on the website before. Is Schneider getting new automatic trucks now or something?

I doubt they'll be dropping the 10spd manuals anytime soon but I do remember hearing some talk about them testing some new 12 speed autos in the newer trucks.

Is Schneider a decent company for a newbie to start off with?

Yes. As far as megas go they are probably one of the better ones you can run with. Good benefits, lots of freight so you'll be running, and the trucks aren't too bad.

    Swamprat55 and rodneyantoine718 Thank this.

Modern automatics get better gas mileage and are more reliable than manuals. More and more companies will be doing like Maverick has done and be switching their fleets over to them as time goes by.

The older automatics like I drive in this 05 freightliner isn't bad but it isn't good either. It doesn't adjust shift points based on the load. It just goes by rpm set points. Which can make shifting a pain especially with this tanker I pull. But all in all I like the auto. I get about 6 mpg average.
